Good app but search is not good. 1) For example, you cant search phrases like “Barack Obama”. If you do it will find individual cases of each word separately rather than the phrase together. 2) It misses occurrences of words. For example if you “Marx”, the word “Marxism” will not be in the result even though “Marx” is in “Marxism”. 3) Misses some searched entirely. I have a document with certain words, I tried searching those word but this app did not detect it.
The core search here is excellent. There’s a couple of little issues I hope the developer considers fixing - the app will index hidden folders like .Trash in iCloud folders so you end up with results you don’t want. And unlike the macOS version, there isn’t a way to order the search results by filename. Finally the macOS version provides some sort of “sync code” to enable tighter integration with its iOS counterpart, but I can’t find any where in the iOS version to add that.
I don’t agree with subscriptions for this sort of app. But £18 to buy out right seems very expensive
Edit: There’re just too many unresolved issues and crashes. I’m abandoning this app after trying to make it work and improve for almost two years. Edit: After using the app for more than a year, I have to knock off two stars for my rating. The app is very buggy and unstable. I’ve tried providing detailed feedbacks to the dev but none of the issues are fixed. It still crashes a lot for anything more than minimal work. Original: The new version now supports picking external directories. I’m syncing my Zotero library to GoodReader via Dropbox, while indexing all the PDFs in this app.
The unique way this app allows the searching of PDF documents puts it in a class of its own!! I am able to search over 70,000 PDFs for my research. It's fantastic!! I have been using it for the past 2 years and now sync my iPad with the Mac App. It has really changed the way I search for info. One small bug is that my OSX Color Tagged PDFs do not sync properly with the iPad yet. Hopefully the developer will sort this out in future versions.
Enables me to search 128 Journals on my iPad and iMac. Once indexed the searching is very quick.
An indispensable add-on to any PDF-based workflow. Now that it’s possible to add existing locations from Files, this works seamlessly with other apps.
I had yearned for a way to search for contents in multiple PDF files, all at the same time, in the palm of my hands. I found this app, bought it, and well, without no doubt - This app just NAILS IT! I’ve been using the app to search through more than 15 past exam pdf files simultaneously. I put any concept I learned in my lectures as a keyword so that I can get the hang of the trend of how the concept is translated into exams in practice. The result shows really fast with intuitive and neat animations, UI is really easy to navigate through. To be fair, the idea of searching through multiple files on the go is not new for sure (in PC adobe acrobat can do the same thing), but rarely do you find an iPad app that can do so with this much easy UI and high utility. Speaking of utility, The AI features (auto correction, suggestions for serarch, etc) are practically useful. Those are not gimmicks. Very satisfactory. My only complaints are that: 1.No dark theme is available although Mac version supports it 2.No lasso tool that you could use to capture some parts of a document, not the entire thing. Apart from these, I’m in love with the prductivity that this app provides. Definitely worth the price!
The app is excellent overall, but I hope one annoying issue can be fixed. When I connect my Google Drive to the app, it downloads all of my PDFs and other documents and indexes them locally. I have a lot of files, and when it downloads and indexes them simultaneously, the app crashes constantly. It's really inconvenient having to reopen the app again and again. I hope this issue can be fixed soon. Thanks!
