Penultimate

I have been using penultimate and Evernote for years without problems, since the latest upgrade/change we simply cannot get it to sync properly. Trying your support has been hugely disappointing..

My favourite part of this app is the search for text function. I’m using it for work and note-taking, but I’m also learning Japanese, and the search even finds my handwritten kanji, hiragana and katakana characters. I wish that my hand didn’t make dots when I’m using my stylus, and cutting and moving didn’t leave traces behind. The gestures are sometimes unpredictable, too, but honestly, I can live with slight imperfections when the benefits make this app incomparable to any other.

I'm glad I found this app. The different types of papers and notebooks are excellent.

I first started using this app in 2013 and since then I have tried many different writing and note taking apps but always come back to this one! Penultimate is excellent...but it would be even better if some new features could be added say for example a ruler to draw straight lines, maybe some more writing colours the ability to create folders to put your notebooks in etc. But even without new features I will always use penultimate.

Great for making rushed written notes in meetings. Notes also sync to Evernote. Works well with Apple Pencil and has been stable. Can improve paper selection method, speed of sync and size of line paper available to allow for smaller text. Also could improve how it uses existing Evernote Notebooks instead of forcing creation of new ones from within the App.

Brilliant tool

I bought premium, thinking that this app is tried and tested. All I get is crashes galore. Can’t even access the notes I made in the past without the app crashing. Come on guys IPad Pro can’t be the reason your app no longer works as it should.

Penultimate is s superb tool for taking notes, recording calculations and so forth and the to have these records available across platforms via Evernote. The only negative, certainly for me, is that I have yet to find an effective stylus.

Jot script completely unusable on iPad Air 2.

The new Penultimate is the worst app update I have ever used. The old app had notebooks with pages that were easy to navigate. Now there is just one long continuous strip of 'paper' and you have to use two fingers to get around. The app doesn't deal well with multitasking: if I switch back and forth from another app, it usually restarts instead of just opening the note I was working on. It doesn't remember the pen setting I used last, always resetting to the default. It also often loses the last bit of writing I did. I'm reinstalling the old version or looking for another app.
