Petcube - Pet Cam & Online Vet

I like the cameras and the video. The App would be okay too if it would stop pestering me to like it with a positive review. Stop pestering me to like you and we might just get along.

Update: I changed the rating to a 1 as the more I use this app on my iPhone 15 Pro with the current iOS release it freezes up all the time. Not just the video, but the app itself and you have to close it and the reopen to get it to do anything. Developers need to fix the issues ASAP! I pay the premier cost per year and expect this thing to work as intended. The app would be good if things worked consistently. Zoom in on video play back works every so often. Laser is spotty, even when connected to a very fast internal WiFi and being on the same network. App needs to be finished by clearing up these inconsistent features. Quality assurance testing is needed!

FIND SOMETHING ELSE…. FOR SOME REASON IT SKIPS RECORDING AND I DONT SEE ALL OF THE THINGS THAT TRANSPIRED IN THE HOUSE LIKE WHEN MY PET DESTROYS SOMETHING…. IT SKIPPED IT HAPPENING TWICE…… THE RECORDING IS NOT THOROUGH… WASTE OF MONEY

* it appears that I am not the only one who has had an issue with updates making their cameras not work. It’s been a while since I originally had posted this review and now as I read past, it appears that around November number of users had the same issue as I had their cameras not working anymore after the update. Obviously this is the fault of the company and they seem to not take any accountability towards it and reply to with the same generic response. Don’t waste your money buying one or return your Petcube to the store if you still have the chance to. This company obviously does not care about their customers or their reputation.? Original review: Petcube used to be alright. Unfortunately their customer service has always been hit or miss, sometimes you will get a rep who is helpful and cares about resolving your issue, but most other times you’ll get a rep who could care less and is just going through the motions. Today when I contacted customer service because my camera has been stuck offline since the last firmware update. The rep didn’t even try and troubleshoot it with me instead she instantly offered to sell me a new camera. I asked if they could replace it since it was their fault but because the model I have has been discontinued there is nothing they can do because “electronics break overtime as they age”. It was working fine until the update then suddenly the camera wouldn’t work! I’m guessing that could be why they discontinued the model I have. They don’t give you the option to opt out of automatic updates so it seems like all this is just a racket to get you to buy a new camera. I wish that I hadn’t wasted money on buying multiple cameras because i’d much rather support a company who cares about its customers!

I have just completed the setup of this camera. Setup was simple enough and went smoothly, and quickly.. Now I find out that I am going to have to live with a camera this is just a front for advertising subscriptions !! The camera will not record or alert out of the box, It cannot be integrated with my other home automation devices.. I am seriously considering returning this device. You’re either selling equipment or service.. do one and do it well. My data is not for sale !

There was nothing wrong with this app until the latest update, not it's constantly buggy requiring me to restart the app before i can open the camera.

They don’t pay out for emergencies. We didn’t have time to wait after an accident involving our cat so they won’t even let me submit a claim. Don’t bother with the app!!!

The app keeps logging me out for some reason. I’ve used Petcube for almost a year now.

Bought this for my chickens, Mr & Mrs Fox are always around. I’m happy with this. It is Not for outside use . You need WiFi and Bluetooth & electric. Clear picture, two way communication is alway super helpful. Only some glitches that need refining: App is not intuitive. Share/pairing notifications, scheduling is confusing, late notifications. Feedback on app also hasn’t worked so I came here. -Can’t seem to allow another phone to also receive notifications or watch live video and hasn’t been able to utilize the app when away from house. -the schedule is super confusing. I tried somehow made it worse. If I want active mode from 6pm (through the night) turn off at 9am it hasn’t worked. Better to have a 4,6,8,10,12 or 24 hr option. - it sometimes is slow in notifications that detects motion or sound. Delay till it’s uploaded. -notifications sound is only a dog cat or other. Would be nice to have that at max level too. All in all, this is a solid device and for the price it makes it awesome.

I was planning to replace my Bink cameras with these. They appear to work ok but the app has too many distractive ads making it uncomfortable to use. They should put all of the ads under the “store” tab and let the camera view areas be solely for the cameras. The Blink app is clean and I’d pay extra for a PetCube app WITHOUT ADS. Update: Returned cameras after getting an RMA costing more than $30. Not holding my breath on a refund.
