Very nice app, although you must include some more tools for selecting parts of a picture to create layers. At this point you can select by subject or color but you should include other major ones like a free selection tool, a magnet one or a lasso one with the ability to control aspects like hardness or softness or blurring etc… thank you!

App doesn’t even open, totally waist of money!

Lengthy review: note: replaces camera raw, not Lightroom or photoshop. I strongly recommend this app! Pros: - cheap for what it offers even if it’s not perfect as an app (only 5-6 euro/usd), once off payment as of May of 2020 and not subscription. - the most complete toolset for color manipulation with various ways to affect color in every detail. Darkroom for example is not even close. - Bach processing utilizing even your own custom presets - surprisingly good results with the Machine Learning auto adjustments. It’s the only app the seems to really have proper algorithms running - the presets and the auto adjustments show you all the adjustments they make and thus you can learn the real affect of the sliders you have in your tools. - able to handle huge raw files (47 mp sensor - 80+ MB size). Exports also in tiff. Cons: - no culling function if you have big number of photos (like Lightroom to put stars and filter them). This is not a digital asset management system unfortunately. - copies the files you process to it’s own folder and this creates the need for additional disk space. I hope iOS can allow to process in an external disk in the future and the developers can work with a side car file instead of a full copy. - no masks for adjustments thus the color replacement tool is not that useful. You should use affinity photo for this. - the developing process is an in and out process. From the catalogue you go in and you push done to get out. It’s not uninterrupted flow. - no trial version so I took the risk when I bought it.

Definitely a "must-have" app if you love photography. It is amazing what you can do with it on the iPad.

Man what’s going on .... I can’t open files ...I paid for this and you give me that ?

I bought this application, i installed on iPad 6th gen running iOS 12 and i felt frustrated because the app reports that the RAW file can’t be opened although the iOS 12 supports RAW files from a Nikon D800 camera.

I have come to use many different programs in my creative endeavors but in terms of photo editing this app is becoming my favorite. The existing features are extremely useful when I need more ability than Apple Photos affords but not as much bloat as what comes with Affinity Photo or Pixelmator (love those apps too by the way). The features that the developers are working on are also highly useful to the professional photographer. The automated batch processing feature or “workflows” is perhaps the best feature about Photomator because of the incredible potential to save time. The results are extremely close and it does appear that the program is learning my editing style, though this could just be coincidence. This is a feature that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see fully developed and refined. THERE IS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT HOWEVER. It seems that there are some edits that cannot be automatically applied through this process. This makes the AI editing feature feel new and unrefined. It would be nice to be able to add any editing feature or tool in the program to an automated “Workflow” for automatic processing. ALSO More ability to control the decisions the AI is making on each photo would make the automatic workflows feature perfect. For example it would be useful to be able to tell the AI to pull shadows up a little more across jobs, or asking it to limit highlights to a certain level that may not be what the AI considers “technically perfect”. Making the aforementioned upgrades would likely make this app the premier photo editing app for America and maybe the world. Speaking solely for myself, If these changes were made this would become my primary photo editing program since every feature I would need would be in one program that actually saves me time. Any cons aside, this app is comparable to light room but actually has an ethical price model and is already wildly powerful for its price point. Thank you to the developers! Please keep Photomator going in the amazing direction it is going!
