pianoscope – Piano Tuner

No opportunity to try as it won’t download to my iPad. Would have preferred to use something like this on a laptop but as mine is windows and I can’t stand iOS then no opportunity for that either.

I am most impressed. I am a semi retired session musician and studio engineer/producer. I have a 1920 Bechstein model A grand, which I have owned since 1978. I have been regularly found myself exasperated at paying for a professional tuning only to be left with a piano with pitch that sags out of concert in the middle or has random departures from equal temperament. Being cursed with perfect pitch does not make me popular with piano tuners either. Using various tuning apps has helped but it's a Bechstein. It deserves better than something that is more designed to tune up a guitar. Results have been patchy and not really satisfactory. However today I have spent the afternoon using the pianoscope and am really pleased with the result. The piano sounds sweeter than it has done for a long long time. You know it's on song when you can't stop playing and keep playing sustained chords just for the pleasure of listening to them hanging in the air. I am really pleased with the results from this app and have paid up after only 3 days. If you need help you will find the developer very kind and helpful. 10/10.

This is a well thought out tuning app for pianos. Pitch raising and lowering very accurate. Intuitive and easy to use. I have done over 350 tunings so far.

I tune at least 20 pianos a week with this. Switched from another well known tuning app due to more precise pitch readings and just overall better sounding tunings. Very modern and easy to use compared to other tuning apps on the market. The technology behind it is up to date and not 30+ years old like other software.

I’m learning piano tuning and have tried a few other programs, but the tuning indicators were very hard to read, and after my tuning work, the results sounded disappointingly poor. Piano scope so much easier to use and our family’s pianos actually sound good. Thank you for creating this app.

First time I used it i noticed a superior quality with my tunings. Unique feature is the weight selection adjust the inharmoncity curve!!! Also the initial strike key in the upper treble section

Pianoscope is revolutionizing Electronic Tuning Device apps. It is easy to set up and will quickly generate a professional level tuning curve that navigates the break better than any device currently on the market. For those with a trained ear there are ways to adjust the tuning to exactly what your ear wants to hear. This app also has incredible tools for learning to hear partials and training yourself to tune aurally. I highly recommend Pianoscope to anyone who is serious about producing high quality professional tunings.

I have used two other tuning apps for the past decade and pianoscope by far is my preferred and favorite choice now. There is something special going on with the tuning curve. I also truly appreciate all of the work that went into the tuning screen and how smooth the strobe and indicator respond while tuning. No matter how bad the piano scale is, the screen responds beautifully! Thank you for such a powerful tool!

I have used a strobe tuner in the past - that’s not directly meant for piano and had trouble with detecting higher notes in the 7th octave, also the lowest in the zero octave. This app got every single note. Plus with the temperament built in, after 6-7 hours tuning my piano, it sounds fantastic. I’m considering paying the full amount for normal usage, because I tune twice a year usually. So as long as I can keep using this for years, it’s a great price. Especially considering paying someone costs more than the $100 basic price each time.
