Slicer for 3D printers

Veröffentlicht von: Marc Haemmerle

Beschreibung

Introducing Pikaslice, a comprehensive slicing solution for both Resin/MSLA and Filament/FFF 3D printers on the mobile platform. Effortlessly import your 3D models, adjust their orientation and layout, apply manual or automatic supports, examine your scene for islands, and export your work to an extensive range of supported Resin/MSLA and Filament/FFF 3D printers.
While the use of an Apple Pencil is highly recommended, it is not mandatory. To transfer the exported files to a thumb drive (and subsequently to your printer), you'll need an adapter, such as USB-C to USB-A, depending on your specific iPad and thumb drive model.
Please note that this app is compatible with a variety of resin MSLA, DLP, and FFF/Filament 3D printers (see the list within the app).

Getting better all the time

App is fantastic. Now that support for the Halot Mage series has been added, I dont even need to touch my desktop for 3D printing at all, and the software is far more stable than Lychee ever was.

One word, amazing!

I downloaded Pikaslice after watching some YouTube videos and reading some reviews people have left saying how good this app is. All I can say is it’s even better than what the reviews say…. I needed a third party slicing app for iPad as my 3D printer manufacturer software was not compatible and I didn’t want to have to use CAD software on my iPad and slicing software on a desktop, so I turned to Pikaslice. Extremely user friendly interface and within an hour or so after watching some ‘how to’ videos I had sliced my first print. I noticed immediately I had an issue with the app and my printer, the origin was not correct and no matter what I tried my prints would not start in the centre (even though in the app I had centralised my print). I found the help icon in the app and sent an email to Marc explaining my issue. He replied extremely quickly, worked with me over a couple of days, released an update for the app and explained how to get around my issue. Following his guidance and support my orientation issue had vanished, the guy must be a genius! If you need a slicing app for iPad then look no further, well worth the money with excellent technical support, one word, amazing!

Is this app only for elegoo products? As after downloading it and wanting to add my FLSun qqs pro to it, there is no manufacturers box to start from.

It’s the app we all been waiting for!!!

Gotta admit I’ve been wanting a slicer on my phone for years! Congratulations on being the first!! What is pika based off? Prusa, cura etc? Would love to see the bambu printers added. Doubt I’ll use this to slice when I’m at home but can finally show people when talking about things at work! Had a little play and would LOVE to see multi colour painting added!! That way can paint models when at work in spare time instead of sitting at computer for hour straight once home Thanks 👌👌👌

Help function is limited

The app is great so far and works great with the ipad pencil. However, im struggling to work out how to send files to print and the help function just provides info on supports, hollow, drain holes etc

Good to have an iPad slicer

Great work, this slicer is nice but as a newbie a manual on its use would be nice as there are a lot of settings. Hover over or information buttons would be a great addition.

Needs work but glad to have a slicer programme for the iPad.

On the plus side it’s very easy to use and can handle complex models with ease. Everything is well designed and laid out for you from choosing the right printer and resin settings to various types of supports, hollowing etc just what we need to get the job done. On the minus side I’ve found the programme very buggy and crashes on a regular basis, each time corrupting the save also, so I would have at any given time multiple saves as at one point it crashed three times in a row and corrupted three saves. Also the two prints I’ve produced so far on the anycubic m3 max have come out in reverse, the second print did not have the holes that I had put into the model so it came out hollow with a quarter of resin sealed inside. I’ve not had any issues with this printer before and going back to my other pc slicer programme afterwards all was fine again with multiple print's When slicing for the anycubic photon mono x the printer wouldn’t recognise the file even tho the correct one was selected. Having used for sometime pc based slicing programmes it’ s great to finally have one that I can use anywhere with the iPad. I shall return to Pikaslice in a few months to see all the improvements.

Some features seem to be bugged

I really like the idea of this app! However, the key feature I need for success is not working. I have a mesh with a bunch of little pieces and I keep trying to separate the pieces using the separate shells into objects function, but they still only allow me to transform them together. I tried the toggle edit mode to see if that’s the setting I needed to move them independently, but whenever I use it it either crashes the app immediately, or when I click on any of the separated parts they vanish and there’s not even an undo function to bring them back so I have to reupload the mesh. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I’m really not sure and there’s no tutorials online talking about this specific issue
