Nominate your training goal. You may want to improve your sprinting, climbing or endurance. Or alternatively, you can train for a specific event by choosing from our list of 200+ cycling events worldwide.
The time of generic cycling training plans is over.
Pillar provides you with personalised plans based on your fitness level, your available training routine, and of course what you want to achieve.
And it’s adaptive. So if you miss a session or two, then it will make adjustments in real-time, making sure you’re still on track.
It’s dynamic around your body, as you get fitter – Pillar evaluates your activity and fitness progression every week, and updates your training for the next week.
In fact, Pillar evaluates all your cycling training – so it has a complete picture of what you do and even how fatigued you’re likely to be. It does this so it can make recommendations that are a good fit for you, each and every day. Ensuring you make the best use of your time in the saddle and don’t overload yourself (which leads to injury and zero progress).
Pillar is backed by science, experience, and technology.
Our session and plan algorithms have been researched and designed by experts in their respective fields. Pillar’s team of advisors include a head of performance, leaders in performance nutrition, exercise metabolism, and professional cyclists.

Smart Companion Athlete

I can customize my personal plan. Easy to engaged with the apps. Simple UX but feel good the journey. As a user I am trying couple of plans completed.Day by day devs are introducing new things such as block feature, weekly activity report, provisional week activity report, more push notification to remember my missing train or uploaded ones. Faster fit files sync, smart graph view. A few of feature I also like as I'm Away off, anchor session add and recurring. We hope more will be cooking and explore the new things. A few more new features has been added in the Pillar like Fitness Test, ETA, Fitness Estomation and many more progress. Good Luck Pillar Team

Promising!

Seems great so far, but a little limited in its interoperability with other apps. Hopefully this will change soon! Exporting to Zwift worked, yet cadence information suggested by Pillar did not come across to Zwift. Would also love the ability to export workouts from Pillar to Wahoo devices. Not sure how dynamic the workouts/plans really are. It would be great if they adjusted based on whether you do workouts well, fail them, or simply ride outdoors and hope for the best? Case in point, there is a 2hr zone 1 ride in my plan(!). I’d like to ride outdoors for 4hrs in zones 1-4, but come back having accrued 2hrs in zone 1. Would that count as a pass or fail?

Great Idea, But Not Ready

I like the idea of a training app that will evaluate my current fitness, create a personalized training plan, and then modify the plan as I go. That’s what Pillar promises to be. Sadly, it does not deliver. I was a beta tester, so I’ve been trying to use this app for quite a while. During that time, there were some minor improvements, though the interface is still awkward. But somehow the developers decided it was ready for distribution without fixing major flaws that make it unworkable. For instance, Friday afternoon I open the app and am told that my upcoming workout is Thursday’s workout. Or I complete a ride and go to manually pair it with the planned workout, but my only choice is the workout from the day before. The “unpair” function doesn’t simply unpair a ride and workout, it deletes your ride from the app completely. And be careful how much time you say you are available to ride. I first said I was available 3.5 hours per day. Pillar’s first workout was a 3.5-hour endurance ride—this despite the fact that my longest ride in the previous 3 months was about 1.5 hours. If you do a Pillar-planned workout that is harder than your average, the app will then warn you that the workout was too hard. If you like the idea of the app, maybe give it another year and see whether the developers can get their act together. Me, I’ve wasted enough time on this. The developers don’t seem to be making any progress, and releasing the app now tells me that they are unwilling or unable to create a workable program.

Amazing training app- can’t live without it

Every time you look for a cycling training plan, they are always written generally and never bespoke- unless you’re prepared to pay an arm and a leg. Pillar has you covered as it takes into account your cycling experience, metrics and availability to train. There are a range of plans to choose from and you can custom suit the plan to your needs, time and experience. You can even change the plan once it’s started to suit you. My training has been transformed now and the support you receive from the pillar team is superb. Can’t live without it now! Well worth the investment.

This is great!

The pillar app is so smooth and sleek to use. Having been a regular user for a few months now it’s honestly changed my whole approach to training as I was in such a limbo before. Personal coaches are far too expensive but this app does (almost) all the hard work for you, you just need to put in the time and sweat then you’ll be rewarded!

My training has been transformed! I feel empowered with my decisions around my fitness and seen great progress across multiple sports.

Great idea, but UX isn’t quite there for me

Spoke to a rep at the Cycle Show London, great chat and so many things they’re doing with this app are on point (polarized training model, adaptive training prescriptions, factoring other sports). But I struggled to manually add a weights session which I’m sure would have reduced my ‘freshness’. It’s also not clear how to use the calendar. I expect to click on a day where I did an activity and see a summary but nothing happens. Generally I’ll go on this kind of app after an activity. But after my ride I just did, it’s telling me 73% freshness ‘You’re all good to hit a hard day of training’ - but I’ve just done a session and I feel tired 😂. As I say minor points overall but they all add up to me wondering if I should try Trainer Road instead! I hope my extremely honest review isn’t taken the wrong way. I would defo give the app another go after some more of the developments mentioned at the Cycle Show are in place.

Good training app

I like the personalised training plan. I’ve followed a couple now and they’ve worked for me. The ability to pick and choose your training days and the time available produces a bespoke plan. The weekly analysis is informative and I like the goal progress feature. The app is not perfect and there are still some small bugs yet to be resolved. This is to be expected as the app is still new and development has been rapid. The bugs are minor and can be worked around. Good luck Pillar.

Flexible Adaptive training program

This new app is really great for me because of its flexibility. I’m a recreational rider, who likes to do sportifs, fondos, and group rides. Staying fit with a busy schedule with kids can be challenging. This apps allows me to put in days and how much time I have and builds a training plan based on a goal you setup. If something comes and I need to change a day or cancel this allows me to do this. It interfaces with other apps and computers.

Loving it
