Pin Drop - Private Maps

For example: search for a place. There’s one down the road. Response: here’s a bunch an hour away Can I search for nearer or get more results Response: No. this all you get Can I set a default area or maybe search around my location? Response: No. you want these ones an hour away.

Pin Drop has a long history and a period when things were quiet, but they developers are on it again and have rebuilt it from the ground up. There’s a lot of activity and updates with new features and extra quality being added all the time. It’s fun to see what they keep adding in every release! I personally use it to track all of the places I’ve ever been on different trips, or my own city, and love the ability to add multiple tags to pins. Examples of my tags include: - Business - Vacation - Camping - Hikes - Amusement Parks - Camping - Hotels - Restaurants - Ski Resorts - and more! It’s great when I return to a city years later and wonder, “was this the hotel I stayed at last time?”, “where was that great restaurant?”, “Have I hiked this trail before?”, “what customers did I meet at this location last time?”. Enjoy - I love this app!

I wanted to pin places that I’ve visited and unfortunately the search bar doesn’t know any of the places I had to go through google maps to find the locations more accurately and wasted 30 minutes.

Tap in a field to type and it ads the letter Q yet the keyboard isn't even up. Speaking of, shouldn't the keyboard pop up when I'm trying to type something in the pin field? Deleted about 30 seconds after I downloaded. Too many glitches already for me to keep giving it a chance.

Maybe the most glaring of which is you can’t search your own pins! You could do that in the old pin drop! You also used to be able to toggle which tags were shown, now the only option is all of them. Finally, with no website, how do I back up my pins to my computer? Forgive me if I don’t have much faith in Pin Drop not losing all my tags like they did when they shut down last time. It seems like the devs have already abandoned the app shortly after putting it back on the app Store. Needs work.

It isn't able to find any of the addresses I type into the search bar. Nor is it able to make custom maps, like advertised. I was hoping to have an app that functioned like Google's My Maps (I have several custom maps I made in Google Maps that I would like to use when I travel). iPhone doesn't give users access to My Maps in its Google Maps app. And so Pin Up seemed to be the answer. It isn't. You just drop pins and it lists them in a single master list, rather than allowing you to create sub-lists (i.e.: if I want to make a map of locations for my trip to Toronto, I can't just make a list called Toronto like I can in Google's My Maps). Useless app…I'm erasing it.

Newest version wiped all my pins, haven't been able to get them back! Don't upgrade!

all the features are amazing (tags, pictures, social). invaluable for travel

No Google login and no Sync with Google Maps=Pointless & Useless
