Plant Daddy — Water Reminders

I tried so many reminder and calendar apps, but they keep counting from the original set date. Not from when you actually watered them, which this app that fantastically! Let’s say I have a plant that I water every 4 days. If I am 2 days late with watering that plant, I want to get a notification in 4 days again and not after 2 days again, as that will drown my plant. This app reset the count down on the day you perform the task, perfect! And therefore I also use it for other household chores that come back regularly. The app works really well, gives plenty of options such as notes, pictures, date that the plant was bought, scientific name etc. If I may request, I only miss a feature to keep track of fertilizing and trimming my plants. Let’s say I want to water a plant 1x/week, fertilize it 1x/month, and trim it always in March. I solve this by adding extra “plants” for the fertilizing task and use my calendar app for trimming, but all in one app would be even better. And to be honest, I never use the picture option, as it makes the list too bulky and I lose the overview. A smaller picture in the list, or only showing it when opening the plants options would help me. Anyhow, thanks developer for the great app!!

But I would like to suggest that in the tab “plants” you could have another viewing option: little tiles. At the moment each plant is shown in a big picture with a scroll bar. But if you have many plants it’s annoying to have to scroll and I would like it to have a good overview of my plant family.

Opend the app today and all my plants are gone. It took me so much time to put everything in there and now it’s all gone. Not great!

Nice free app for water reminders. Should allow multiple photo saves to track progress of plants.

I have a variety of plants with a range of needs (indoor and out). This app is perfect for keeping track of who needs water and when. I can even add notes to keep track of each plant’s light requirements so i’m not constantly looking to google for each one everytime I move things around. Its a simple and direct app with a clean layout. LOVE it.

The app is super helpful in keeping track of when I need to water each plant. I also think it’s cute that you can name each plant, add notes, and add photos. The one-time $2.99 it costs to log more than 4 (I think??) plants was so worth it.

I recently ran out of iCloud storage space and had to delete some data. I turned off iCloud permissions for this app and deleted its data thinking it would still be stored locally. When I opened the app today all my plants had been deleted. I only had five, so it didn't seem like a huge deal and I started adding them again, planning to leave a 3-star review questioning what exactly is preventing me choosing to only have my data stored locally (as there is no setting in the app for iCloud sync). I then discovered that there is now a limit to the number of plants you can add for free, and I could only have 4 out of my 5. So it's down to 1 star and I will be deleting the app! To be completely clear to the developer, I am not frustrated because there are in-app purchases, I am frustrated that something that was previously a free feature has now been paywalled. I really do appreciate that it's a small one-time purchase and not a subscription, and I am more than happy to pay an indie dev for an app that's functional and useful, but frankly I use the stock Reminders app on a daily basis anyway and an entire extra app that I can't be sure will save my data is not worth any amount of money just to keep track of less than half-a-dozen plants at a time. I will pay for premium features in a new app if they are clearly advertised as such, and I will pay for new premium features in an app I already use. I will not suddenly start paying for features I have already been using for years, even as a one-time purchase. (This didn't fit anywhere else: it really doesn't help that the library of notification messages is so limited. The humor is the main draw of the app in my opinion, but there is so little variation that it gets old pretty quick.)

I’ve been looking for a simple and cute plant app and came across this one and it’s a must download! I love the widget on my home screen and being able to see when they need watered! Such a helpful app :)

Love the setup and reminders so far. I wish there were fertilizer reminders too so that I didn’t have to keep track of that.
