Pros: Easy to use. Take the picture, upload, wait for commercial to end, and await results. Cons: This app almost always yields a false result. From Irsis, sunflowers, raspberries, dandelions, trumpet vines, rhubarb… this app gets it wrong every time, while correctly identifying tulips. I’ll continue my search for a better option.
Just plain wrong on every plant I tried. Sorry.
I wasn’t sure if I could trust the app so I scanned three plants that I’m familiar with: one pink geranium, one red geranium, one orange kalanchoe. According to the app, the pink geranium is an annual honesty, the red one is a poinsettia, and my kalanchoe is a ground ivy. I could probably go with the kalanchoe being also known as ground ivy, but my pics were very clear and even the least green of thumbs couldn’t mistake a geranium for a poinsettia.
No pictures?!?
If it were just a matter of taking a picture and having the app identify the plan. It would be wonderful. Unfortunately my experience was that it created a scan that I had to have yet another app to scan and then after a three day free trial they want to charge me $9.99 a week. I don't think so!
I always test these apps on plants in my garden to see how accurate they are. It said my cucumbers were grapes and my watermelons were fig. All the other apps I’ve tried have had no problem identifying these plants
Loads of fun for me and family. We learn as we play.
This app tried to tell me my coleus desert rose plant was a pacific poison oak, and then some kind of prostrate, zinnia flower? I don’t know where this app gets its information from but after the eighth attempt, I gave up and decided to write a review. Hope to at least help someone steer clear of this app or at least helps the developers figure out what’s wrong with it.
Once I downloaded, I wanted to see how accurate it was by identifying plants I actually already have and know what they are. It could not identify chamomile, peppers or tomatillos. The only plant it did identify correctly was a tomato plant. I’m extremely skeptical about being able to identify unknown plants. The kind I do not know what they are, (the whole reason for this app). I don’t mind the ads because it’s free. Just wish that it was accurate.
