Plex: Watch Live TV and Movies

The UI needs a rework since it’s been outdated since the beginning. But frankly the more annoying problem is the boot time. 10s to load what exactly? The website boots faster than this.

Their "Help & Support" menu isn't helpful nor supporting at all, so I'll just leave it here as a 1 star rating instead: When will you fix the annoying issue where the header jumps down and the content scrolls underneath it?!

Why would I need to pay to stream my own media from my self-hosted server? Waste of time…

I’ll start with downloads that are running painfully slow in my own gigabit network and not at all in another network. Subtitles that work on AppleTV do not show in the iPad app, music is working few minutes only, so almost nothing works. Ipad is Air 5 so it has all the processing power. Adding the lack of transcoding for H265 videos that Jellyfin free is doing with problems makes me to feel cheated after buying lifetime subscription

Massive battery drain after the last update. Couple of hours battery life, streaming locally.

Why do I need a subscription to stream media in my own lan? I’ll go find an app that lets me stream my media in my own home without asking for money

Using plex exclusively with Chromecast with a server on my PC and it's working wonderfully now. Glad I found this app, I used to have a 5 meter HDMI a while back as it was the only reliable way I could play stuff from my hard drive. No more! Update: about 2 weeks after leaving my review (as seen below) below, the app was updated and all the issues I reported were fixed. Great response from the developer, I might say. --- I'm using plex exclusively with Chromecast and I'm seeing a few really annoying bugs. For one, if I start playing an episode and switch to a different app, it's gonna lose connection to Chromecast. Happened to me 3 times just while trying to write this review. The second major hindrance is that if I pause and wait for a while, it's going to again lose connection to Chromecast. I take a break every now and then, so I'll pause, go in the kitchen, come back 7-8 minutes later, I have to reconnect to Chromecast and start playing again. It's unnerving having to start playing the same thing 2-4 times in under an hour.

I feel robbed! Bought a Lifetime Plex Pass for the Camera Upload feature and it’s not working at all on my iPhone 12. It flashes a picture (which doesn’t get uploaded) and then gets stuck on “Waiting to upload”. Searching the web I see this has been an issue for more than 2 years now. I literally feel robbed! When this gets fixed I’ll change my review.

Bought a new Ipad and now the app won't leg me stream movies, it tries to get me to pay again for it. The app on the old ipad works fine, the app on my iphone works fine, only this new one won’t work. I logged into my account, all the other apps work just fine. What’s going on?

I am an old user or plex and I also have bought lifetime license. Besides having my media organized nicely, the main reason for buying a license was to have automatic photo backup from my iPhone. While it worked for a while, it stopped working this springe and since then the forums are full of complains and there were several bugfixes and 'new features', it seems nobody cares to fix important ones that were the reason why many users boight premium in tje first place. Too bad, otherwise it's a great product
