iPhone can be used as a radiation detector, as it is called Geiger counter, by connecting the voice output of the Pocket Geiger Counter with the microphone input.

Sensor: PIN photo diode x8 (reverse biased and shielded)
Detectable radiations: Beta and Gamma radiation
Measurement range: 0.05uSv/h~10mSv/h (Calibrated using Cs-137), 0.01cpm~300000cpm
Measuring time: about 5 minutes at the dose rate of 0.05uSv/h
Energy response: :662keV~1333keV

Literally Doo doo

This app works, but you need to hook it up to a real Geiger Counter in order for it to work! I thought the whole point of the app was to not need an external device! This thing is a big fat pile of doo doo!

Here is your answer as to why it doesn’t work,

You need to connect a pocket Geiger counter, nice reading skills though.

Pointless

It does nothing but give error messages and does not explain how to resolve them. The app makes you think that you are to blame for the errors. It gave me a headache. I'm deleting it now.

I wish I could give zero stars

I’m running 11.1.1 and I keep getting errors. “No connection” “DeviceErrorTitle” “DeviceErrorMsg” “DeviceErrorRet” I installed it twice with the same results.

This app actually doesn't seem to work

I haven't figured out yet what conditions have to be in place for this app to work, but so far I have been able to get it to start about one time in six. Definitely not ready for prime time.

iPhone 5S not supported

I bought the device, I bought this app and the pro app and only then it turns out that iPhone 5S is not supported and doesn’t get any meaningful readings from the device.
