Pocket Prep EMS

For the most part, this is a fine app for what it needs to do…for the MOST PART. Like anything with EMS, there’s Schrodinger’s answers where everything is both right and wrong and contradicts what you might have been taught. But what really bothers me, and caused me to knock off stars, is that some of the explanations, when not saying how your “wrong” answer was actually correct, don’t give you an accurate page number to review the information. They might give you one very vaguely related to the question, but it won’t have the information you’re actually looking for! The other source listed is a $32 book from 4 years ago. Limmer, for all its flaws, and crash course, have been far more helpful to me. Even Google has been more helpful, and unlike prep, Google is free! They need someone to QC their answers and sources, stat!

I passed the NREMT at 70 questions and I don’t think I would have passed without this app

I passed my NREMT first try and it was partly (mostly) due to this app. I got it just about a month before my test I did just under 200 questions in that time frame. Instead of sitting on the couch reading a big text book or looking at my notes from class I used the app just while laying on the couch. I will say this app is going to make you think you know absolutely nothing at points but when you get something wrong figure out why with the explanation on the answer don’t just skip through. By far one of the best study tools I have found wish I had this during my class would have made it easier to study! Thank you to the developers I really appreciate what you have done here!

A lock screen widget would change the game for me Everything about this app is absolutely incredible. It’s my favorite way to drill EMS concepts and questions. It’s better than flashcards because it actually provides the rationale for every question you answer. Detailed explanations really help me to improve my learning when I get something wrong. The ONLY THING I would change is that I wish there was an option to have a widget on my lock screen. I have a lock-screen widget for other apps like Duolingo and it makes it much easier for me to remember to study for a little while. This would be a 5-star review if pocket prep could have the same.

I used this app for my EMT and AEMT, which I both passed first try. It has changed a lot over the last few years, but both tests I felt like pocket prep had very similar style questions to what I experienced on the NR. Use this app! I will be using it when I challenge medic.

My EMT course was mostly on zoom and I didn’t feel like I learned very much. I spent 20min/day on this app doing “level up” quizzes for the 3 weeks leading up to my test and passed first try in 71 questions. I would recommend paying close attention to the medical terminology. I also had a crash course book but this was way more useful.

Found a couple mistakes with questions

Everytime try open the app it crashes. It wont load. Deleted app and reinstalled and nothing happens.

using this app helped me tremendously in my studying for the national exam. i used this app daily. the QOTDs, level up tests & mock exams prepared me so well. HIGHLY recommend to anyone who takes their studying seriously & wants to pass their exams. amazing app, seriously.
