Too many technical glitches and political messaging

There have been alot of issues with playback. Episodes refusing to play, and then suddenly beginning to play many minutes after having pressed play. Also, as a gay person I found it frustrating that this App was displaying the Pride flag in the upper part of the screen during pride month. What the heck was that? I came to escape all the divisive politics that are seemingly everywhere these days, and even here it is in ones face. Shame on you for that

Easy to recommend

I like how easy this app is to use. I can search for podcasts I like just by typing in keywords. I think ads are in such a minor role they don’t even bother me. They’re in the background as pictures, unlike on YouTube... I’m still thinking of getting rid of them, because it costs next to nothing a year. This app rarely crashes in my experience. I use this app every day.

Worst podcast app I have ever used

The app is incredibly frustrating too often. If you stop playing podcasts for too long they often will not continue to play again even if you do everything to refresh or wait even close the phone. Often you need to lisen to previous podcast in the series to get the next to play or try to access the episodes form the website or some other podcast platform. Main frustration however is that the app is used by people who offer it for patrons and this system often faces the same issues or just fails for other reasons or logs you out. It makes you not to want to bother which is hardly the desired effect.

Error opening file

In many ways a good app, but I follow Sargon, I can NEVER listen to his content because every single file of his says error opening file! Why?

Basic functions ok, but the refresh rate of e.g. News is not optimum: 10 hours or more old news podcast’s are not anymore interesting or valid!

Basically okay

I started using Podbean because the Podcasts app stopped downloading my podcasts properly after one of the updates. Podbean is okay - the news podcasts which I want to listen to were easy to find and mostly they are available when they should be. I like the feature of being able to remove short breaks in the play back, and also the feature of playing at 1.1 of 1.2x speed. However, it does annoy me that Podbean generally needs to go back to its start page, rather than my selected podcasts, every time I open it. It also annoys me that having listened to a podcast it is not always marked as ”played”. Sometimes I have had to play through the same podcast 3 times before it would indicate it has been played. It doesn’t matter, except that Podbean will not download the latest episode automatically until the previous has been marked as ”played”. There is a feature by which you can manually mark an episode as ”played” - but Podbean still treats the episode as unplayed and you have to manually hunt to find the latest episode. Marking it as ”played” is only a reminder to me that I do not need to bother listening to it and should hunt for the updated one. This applies to podcasts which automatically try to delete all played episodes. However, when using settings to ask for played episodes to be deleted - this doesn’t work. So the app works, but can be annoying in the details.
