Podcast Player: Podurama

This app feels unfinished and has several issues that make it frustrating to use. Sometimes, Android Auto and CarPlay don’t load unless you manually open the app, and syncing between devices is unreliable—when switching from one device to another, playback may reset or start from the beginning. It also doesn’t always recognize when playing from Android Auto or CarPlay, causing further issues. The AI-generated auto chapters feature seems pointless, as it selects a random 30-second clip that doesn’t add value or improve navigation. The developer should consider using the app themselves or test it. It is worrisome because they started a new application and this one already feels abandoned!

Lots of ads

Feels like you’re trying to do more than you can deliver right now. Please just put the extra stuff as beta features you can turn off and on. Right now I have an issue where playback doesn’t always show in the UI and it forgets where it is if the app is closed. Also have an issue where my podcasts won’t download automatically but I thought I set it up correctly? Just needs to be simplified a bit more. Again copy everything pocketcasts does and then just add extra features on top of that as extras you can turn on. That would make you perfect.

Best podcast app. Reliable. Everything you want!!

I like the features and design of this app, but if I've started a podcast and pause it, when I reopen the app it resets to the beginning. It's a longstanding problem (I found similar reviews from 2018) that the haven't corrected. Super annoying. If you use Podurama, remember the time marker when you stop or pause a podcast!

I think this Podurama podcast has the potential to replace stitcher.

Cannot listen to new shows as show no longer appear for any podcast! If not fixed soon I may switch.

The Good: - Sync b/w all my devices. - Playlist creation, organization, overall UX - significantly better than the Podcasts app (Apple-ecosystem). Not so Good: - Not a lot of active development work happening on the product. - Lots of feature reuqests from users but none that have been released in several months it seems. - Not as tightly integrated w/ the Apple ecosystem.

It’s been almost a year since Stitcher shut down, which I had used for more than decade. I was able to upload my podcast list to Podurama, set a custom playlist that loads when I open the app, and it plays daily podcasts correctly. I tried a few other popular podcasts apps, but none of them could set a daily playlist, so was pretty pleased to find this functionality in podurama.
