The Wavetable Sequencer Synth

Veröffentlicht von: Fingerlab SARL

Beschreibung

From the minds of Fingerlab (multiple-time winner of Music App of the Week, 2012 Apple Design Award) and Jordan Rudess (keyboardist of Dream Theater, 2019 Denny Award winner for the iOS app ‘Geoshred’), comes PolyWave, a revolutionary synthesizer technology that employs a novel wavetable sequencer to create unique and ever-evolving sonic experiences. PolyWave is inspired by the vintage sounds of the legendary Korg Wavestation synth.
PolyWave allows you to use your own finger to draw distinct and unrepeatable waveforms. Simply move your finger along your screen, and watch and listen as your unique musical exploration unfolds. With our expansive waveform library at your disposal, the possibilities are endless!
If you’re looking for some inspiration before embarking on your own PolyWave journey, check out our 100+ factory preset categories. We offer a variety of options including leads, loops, pads & FX.
PolyWave can be connected to your favorite keyboard with MIDI, and also functions as an audio unit that can be loaded onto any other DAW. Our built-in live recording module allows you to record your creations right on the app.

Like any good music app, has presets that sound fantastic to get you off and running plus a lot of deeper features that you can exploit with a slightly involved learning curve. Get it! You won’t hate yourself for spending a few bucks on this one.

I’m having a blast with this! It’s awesome interface prompts exploration which is very rare these days on the iOS platform.very refreshing! Excellent entry from sir Jordan ! 👽✌️😄

Excellent entry in a time when originality is rare in app synths

First of all, I love Jordan Rudess, and just cant stand DT. BUT I TRULY LOVE HIM. The only thing that effin pushed me to write down this review is that that effin integrity that has long been since my effin childhood. , and I hate myself for that. Could’ve a simple living guy. Anyway. The only reason I’m writing this , is only because, this app has the sincerity, emotional attachment, and true nirvana attached to it. If you get it, it’s good, if not I’m sorry. This app will change the course. Not wrote that , don’t shave any connections with the devs. Just brute force away into the chaos that is the future brothers! Here we’ll die. Making music erm. Things have never been so swell, I have never failed to fail! Sayonara.

Not that different from Mynth and Flynth

Hmmmm…. I feel like PolyWave, Mynth and Flynth should be a one app. I don’t understand why three separate apps are needed. Very similar in their basic concept, interface and most importantly in what kind of sounds can be generated with them. They feel like different variations of the same app. Having said that, it’s great. I just wish to be able to use them all within one app.

So good!!!

Works fine on iOS, but on macOS there is no sound whatsoever. Please look into this. Thanks.

Pro app. Pro tip. Get it. Should be supported for a long time given the developer's history. It's great for morphing pads if you're into that sort of thing like me. Works well and has simple controls. Effects sound good. Easy midi map. Beauty. I mean for the price you just can't beat it. p.s. The sounds you can get from drawing a waveform is somewhat dependent on understanding how that works and it works fine, as good as any other. You can "detach" the envelope from the filter by drawing the envelope properly, i.e. sustain all the way up, no attack, no release. An init patch by hitting new does this automatically. The detune knob work fine as well. It is for detune of the different waves, not like the detune between voices on an analog synth.

INTERESTING, BUT...

This is a very neat synthesizer app; some very cool ideas here. The whole wave sequencing thing seems to work quite well, very well thought out, and the FM option is OK. But it seems like it’s not quite “finished”... there’s a knob called “detune” which doesn’t seem to do anything. I can’t use the filter without it being connected to its envelope... and the wave randomizer appears to come up with very similar results every time. And as far as drawing the waveform, that works well, but it seems to produce a fairly limited palate. I would like the option to be able to create waveforms using the additive method. Whatever... I’ll watch for updates; hopefully there’s more to come on this app...
