In order to use the Porsche dashcam with your smartphone, you require the free "Porsche Dashcam" app.
The detailed operating instructions with explanations of all functions can be found in the smartphone app under the "Manual" section.
Events:
Display events recorded during parking since the last time the ignition was switched off.
Live image:
Display the live image from the front and rear cameras.
Note: The rear camera is only available in conjunction with a standard dashcam preparation.
Video playback:
– Display saved videos on the Porsche dashcam and the phone.
– Play back (limited resolution), download (full resolution) and delete videos.
Settings:
To configure:
– WiFi
– Mode
– System settings
– Video cross-fade

Absolutely awful! Can’t connect and neither could the dealership. Rear camera isn’t recording and can’t turn on parking mode! Trash! This is supposed to be Porsche!?!
Not easy
Come on Porsche, just paid £700+for a cam and the app stinks. Not what I expect from you…
Porsche Dashcam worst app ever
You can never connect to the Dashcam, you go around and around in circles trying different functions, airplane mode on off, Bluetooth, local network, data on off, tried every combination and nothing ever connects to the Dashcam. Utter rubbish and typical Porsche cheap skates
Black Hole for time wasted
Impossible to connect from iPhone using WiFi as it keeps dropping out so can’t get backup copies of recordings

Total and utter waste of your time.
Connect Porsche Dashcam to APP
Actually I connect Porsche Dashcam to the APP using a separate iPhone. I use another iPhone to connect the PCM. The APP allows live view, download video … But because video clip is only one minute long. So there is a lot of video files to download.
I’d this is the best Porsche can do it’s not good enough
Poor quality App with limited functionality and difficult to sync with the vehicle. This is either an App build issue or a Porsche dealer issue. Either way it’s not good and I would neither recommend the dashcam or the App that is supposed to help it work.
