Benutzerbewertung

I have been trying to get this to work properly for about a month. I have Porsche dashcams installed on my ‘25 911 Turbo S, set as the video source, however the app always says the track time is too short to record.
The dashcam automatically films in 1min segments and the app states videos must be at least 1 minute long and at least 1-mile long.
The design of the Porsche dashcams renders the whole setup useless. Even though they are advertised to work together.
Lates software update
The lates software update made the app un usable on my 2018 GT3. WiFi connection drops, app freezes constantly.
Evolving
It’s great to see that this app continues to evolve. It has a relatively great UI compared to others, and the car integration is data I love to have when it works. Unfortunately, there are still some issues: 1. Phone GPS is abysmal, and support for better external GPS (like RaceBox mini) is non-existent. Where do we even go to ask for it? 2. CarPlay support, while less important, it seems to require first-party CarPlay in the car which seems like just an annoying choice. It wasn’t available on my car, I didn’t choose to not option it. Now that I have added it … I can’t use it. 3. Analysis is lackluster, and data export options seem to be of limited use.
Lastly, the app is over 200mb … seriously?
Does not work with iOS 17.2
I upgraded my iOS from 16 to 17.2. Big mistake, as the Porsche Track Precision app doesn’t work because I can no longer give it location permission. Very frustrating.
Do better, Porsche. When it worked it was fantastic. New update is useless.
Latest several days the app will say it is set up, on track it is providing lap times etc but the data and video fails to save. Very disappointing as I could have used Harry’s if I knew the app was a total failure now. Have tried offloading and hard deleting app (lost all my data in the process) and it still doesn’t work. Do better, Porsche.
Almost amazing, definitely frustrating
Track app is a very very cool concept, and has the potential to unlock amazing info about your driving on track. However, it is unreliable and unpredictable such that it is a distraction to driving instead of an aid to it. The latest specific example is that the video recorded from my iPhone during the session is being rendered upside down, despite the UI indicating it is right side up during the session. Super frustrating as there is no way to undo this after it seems
Not reliable
When the app works, it’s fantastic. Can see lap times while on track through CarPlay, record your session, and more.
Problem is exporting videos takes waaaaaaay too long. A 20 minute lap session takes 40 minutes to export.
Exporting videos is inconsistent at best. In my most recent track day I select the recording I want, hit export, then it gets to 1% and just stops. It activates my phones haptic feedback but does not tell me why it cannot complete. I can view all the data from that session and can confirm the video is working in the player within the application.
Lastly, the first session of my last track day displays no video in the player even though it shows the video it recorded under the “Video footage” section of the session viewer.
Out of the 5 sessions I did I was only able to export 2 of them, one of them seems corrupted, another lost track of the video it recorded, and the third won’t complete after an hour.
It would be nice if the app didn’t take the entire screen up of the steering wheel rendering. Why can’t it be the same height as the rest of the visualization? 1/3rd of my video is a steering wheel.
Lots of promise but can’t rely on it to do the important things right now. Really hope they fix it!
Unstable
After trying this app on and off for several years it is still buggy. It’ll quit in the middle of a session and you lose all the data. Also it failed to start even after a reboot. Uninstalled and installed and it at least starts up but of course any sessions that were successful were lost on the uninstall. So promising with the Porsche telemetry but you can’t rely on it. There are many better apps out there.
Cannot connect to the car
My car is a 2022 GT3 and in our country we do not have hotspot enabled for pcm 6.0 so i cannot use this application, people on pcm 4.0 can use it without wifi only using usb.
You should give us the option to connect using usb or tell porsche to enable wifi for Kuwait cars.
Appreciate your support.
Crashes, doesn’t record data, won’t synch video
The promise of this app is awesome. Using it? Not so much. I wish I could get really ANY of the features to work. Doesn’t save my trips, doesn’t sync video. If I am able to get it to take video it won’t sync then to moments. The overlay data doesn’t work (no throttle or steering, etc showing in video). Cmon Porsche! My car is a 2017 Cayman with CarPlay.
