All of the options are available for a soft awakening
Needs an option to assign alarm tiimes a repeating schedule like every MWF, and have the alarm turn on based on the preset.
I love almost everything about this app, but to get five stars I need more bell and gong options and I want fewer clicks to set the alarm.
I love this app so much, and I’ve recommended it to several people. The only downside is that it often crashes, and then I have to uninstall and reinstall, but it works again. It's a little annoying, but overall, it's worth it. I’ve never had any issues with the alarm not going off.
This is the best way to wake up! Gradually and peacefully! You may want to gradually wake up over a 20 minute period with the bowl sounding very low, till it gets to the full volume you set... or set it to chime every few seconds at your wake up time.. or many variations in between.. This developer truly understands a zen lifestyle! Beautiful Tibetan bowl chimes instead of a glaring radio or buzz alarm, what a way to start the day! I have the other two apps Zen Meditation Timer and Zen Reminder-for mindfulness.. All three of these apps are fantastic, and I use them daily! (and no, I don't know the developer!)
It was advertised as gentle Tibetan singing bowls waking you up by fading in louder and louder. In reality, it sounds like a basic one chime bell with a 2-3 second pause between each bell sound. It does fade in, but it starts at the time you want to wake up. In other words, if you set your alarm for 6, you’ll hear a whisper quiet bell at 6 (if you even hear it) ring once, the a few seconds later again, and again as it gets louder. I’m very easy to wake up, but even I wouldn’t hear this one-chime bell at full volume (set to full volume, but it starts whisper quiet) until at least a few minutes had gone by and it reached full volume. Worst of all: I had to pay before I could use it and now I regret the purchase.
Unless I plug in my phone overnight, this app usually drains the battery. I like the progressive feature, but it needs something very simple like one chime every minute, getting progressively louder. The patterns are so convoluted that it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t understand why Apple can’t create a free morning alarm clock that has something very gentle like birds singing or ocean noises. When I had my Samsung, I had dozens of choices. With Apple, it’s essentially this one or nothing.
I’ve had this alarm for years and love it! Recently, there have been days when it doesn’t go off and will turn off the alarm or sometimes reset itself for the next day without alarming for the day it was originally set for.
This has been a great alarm app until now. The progressive bells have provided a perfect wakeup. No sudden, jarring panic, just a natural feeling of awakening. Tonight, none of that happened. Within an hour of setting the alarm, a very loud, discordant noise came from the app, and it had reset from 8 am to 2 am. I reset back to the settings I’d originally chosen and went back to bed. An hour later, a different loud alarm sounded, and the app had reset the alarm for 3 am. Another reset. Now it’s 4 am and the same thing has happened again. Hacked? Maybe. Just be aware.
