Protein Tracker: Protein Pal

I really like this app! I’ve tried several others, including some of the most popular. But they have so many options and are hard to navigate. This app is wonderfully simplistic 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

I signed up because it said it offered meal plans and recipes. It doesn’t. It only allows you to search for the food and enter it. You can do that for free on my fitness pal. I signed up for the $3.99 plan with a 7 day free trial and was billed immediately. Waste of money!

Can’t figure out how to use it. Trying to cancel! Can’t do that either

Love the color update. Only gripe though is it now takes 2 clicks to add a “favorite” rather than just one

You can’t look up anything without the pro version

I like the idea of this app. But comparing it to some of the other apps out there- The searching is not intuitive and the food database is small. Adding entries is frustrating because you don’t know if you’re adding the right product or not. Brands are missing and it’s kind of a mystery. Could definitely use improvements!

Had to stop using due to Apple Health syncing breaking, less simple entry, time stamps on entries strangely changing, dialogs disappearing when you jump away from the app and return to complete an entry. This 2.x has some promising new ideas (categories, time stamps of entries) but it feels very unfinished and should not have been released without more testing and bug fixing.

Worked pretty well for a long time. Then suddenly today it won’t scan things I have scanned many times before. Argh!!!

Tried this app for the free trial. Cancelled within the free trial limits and was STILL charged the annual fee 23.99. When I spoke to Apple they said the app charged went through before i cancelled (which was within the free trial period) thats shady and stealing! Beware when signing up

I would not recommend this app. For starters, there are pop up ads with every entry trying to persuade you to upgrade to pro, which no doubt makes me desire to do the opposite…In addition to this, you also cannot even scan barcodes or search items without pro? Completely asinine.
