Provoke Camera

I purchased this a week ago, then it wasn’t able to upload pictures and change filters. I did contact the developer and it was fixed! Now I can apply filters and save pictures without problem! Yay! I love this app!

Beautiful and simple app that does what it's supposed to - create the best black and white images (if you like the raw Japanese style it emulates). I was creeping into the crass world of colour slowly and this app brought me back to the beautiful darkness of black and white. Of course, just like any new app, there are bugs that need to be fixed. Till then, a few minor issues here and there don't matter (to me at least) when you see the photos this app produces. One thing that frustrate me a little bit though - touch to focus doesn't seem to be working. But regardless - this is a wonderful app that I see myself using over and over again!

There’s a lot I could say about the special aesthetic of this camera app. For now, though, leave it at this: I wish everyone who’s complained in these reviews about bugginess had contacted the developer directly instead of giving up. The experience of myself and others is that Mr. Tambo responds personally and is keenly interested in problem-solving. He also updates well enough, considering this is probably a small boutique-y operation. No, I’m not related or a business partner. I’ve used this app a lot over many iPhones. On my current iPhone 12 Pro Max, Provoke is giving me pics that are as artful as ever, trouble-free.

Provoke no longer saves JPEG images to my Photos (Camera Roll) since the iPhone iOS 16 Update. Now it only saves HEIC images. Previously it saved JPEG. This was a 5-Star app… now down to 1-Star. Sure would be nice if this glitch, or whatever it is, would be fixed. Thanks! Then back up to 5-Stars.

The filters on this app are awesome but there is a perceptible delay between pressing the shutter and the app taking the pic. 5 stars if that gets ironed out. Competitor app Argentum doesn’t have this problem.

It simply doesn’t work all the time. It’s so incredibly frustrating. I often delete and reinstall, but even that doesn’t always get it working. What I mean when I say “working” is that it seems to be taking a photo, but it actually does not.

Piece of crap! LOST MY ORIGINAL PROVOKE APP AND THAT IS WHY I NEVER UPDATE APPS! SHOULD'VE TRUSTED MY REASONS!! WAS BEST BLK/W APP! PO'd!!!!

Provoke Camera is one of my favorite camera apps. I love the different B+W filters (especially the high contrast ones) and love the stark atmosphere it gives my pictures. I was sad and worried when I was unable to use it for a long time because it would immediately shut down after starting up. Apparently a lot of other users had the same problem. About a month or so ago the app was updated but it still couldn’t get the app to open. What I ended up doing was deleting the app and reinstalling it and the app started working again. If you’re still having problems getting the app to open, try deleting and reinstalling it. Hopefully that will help!
