Should have a way to see the route of buses. Planner routes are sometimes bizarre - if I put the station I want to know when the trains leave but the app adds 3 minute walk from ??? I am in the station with a train in 5 minutes and the app gives the first train as the one in 45 minutes. FAIL
“We facing a little issue” - This app doesn’t allow you link your myki card when creating a new account, by tapping or manually entering the myki card number. Absolute junk but by Victorian Govt standards, par for course.
How can anyone release a major app like this for public use - which doesn't work with iPhone? Unbelievable and embarrassing.
This app is very unreliable and dysfunctional. It’s bad enough that PTV can’t be bothered to allow iPhone users to utilise Apple Pay so that we are forced to use a piece of plastic (both bad for convenience and the planet). Aside from this third world functionality, the app often refuses to scan my Myki card at all, forcing me to manually enter the number on my plastic card. Every time I search for a route on the trip planning aspect, it also throws an error. I have no idea why PTV can’t offer Apple Pay or contactless payments like London or Sydney. If they insist on a “card” for travel, they could at least digitalise it so that it can be topped up and used in a digital wallet like Apple Pay.
Used to dumb parochialism from yanks, sad to see in Aussies.
Unfortunately completely useless to tourists. Had to go into a train station to buy a physical card to use the once to throw away. Save the environment please and allow contactless payments or to use the app to buy a day pass.
I’m visiting from abroad and the app needs a number and an address to register. It would be helpful to have it accept a foreign phone number or have a guest mode so that I can top up and register my card without the need for a local number or address. It would also be good if the app was only needed and I could pay by NFC from my phone much like the express cards that are being used in other countries like Japan, Hong Kong, etc which avoid having to have a physical card.
Can’t create an account with a foreign number or even use a non-Australian credit card to top up. PT are apparently the only merchants in Melbourne who can’t just accept Visa or Mastercard. Unbelievably useless.
To fully use this app you need a physical MyKi card first and then you have to link that to this app. This is not great for people visiting Melbourne. Tip for developers: Why don’t you assign a virtual MyKi number so visitors don’t need a physical card and therefore they can start using the app and pay for transport immediately. This will also help with environmental factors as you aren’t issuing a physical card.
