Pupil Distance PD Measure

Bought this app yesterday and wish I could get my money back. It gives completely different results than careful measuring by 3 friends using rulers and calipers. Also a friend who just ordered his glasses from an optometrist and KNOWS his correct PD gets a different measurement from this app. Since supposedly even an error of 2mm affects the lens this is just not acceptable. The app gives me 3-4mm different than accurate and careful measurement.

Measured my PD manually with a ruler in front of a mirror. Downloaded the app and measured my PD with it three times. All four results are the same. Good app! Congrats to the developer!

This is fantastic app for people in Ontario trying to get mail order glasses where the local Optomatrist gives you a prescription but tries to keep PD secret so only they can fit the glasses properly. Great tool for everyone trying to save some money on their new glasses.

Which one of the measurements should I guess at and use????

My friend had her PD measured professionally. We had 2-6mm difference in PD using the app and every time it was different than the last measurement.

Once I got the hang of it I got the same pd measurement

It is not easy to hold your credit card horizontal. Reflection of light in yoyr pupils make it difficult to find the pupil’s centre. The red crosshair is difficult to place precisely.

PD distance was off by 4mm.. also why would this app take a subscription? Isn't one payment for a wrong PD enough?
