I used this for my marathon. Tested it the night before with a friend and it worked. Something must have happened the day of. I had friends and family sending lots of cheers but I didn’t receive any and I wasn’t able to recover any after. Very disappointing.

From the runner’s perspective there’s not much to see here, which in a way is great, it’s not intrusive or messing with your big day (I was expecting it to murder my phone battery but it really didn’t take too many resources). Where it really shines is for your support team. They will know exactly where you are along the course and when to expect you at the finish as well as helping them find you when it’s all over. All in all a great addition to any event that a phone can survive.
I've tried a hodgepodge of apps and web sites in the past to track runners during a race. The best I could ever manage was plus or minus of an hour from aid station to aid station on ultra-marathons RaceJoy was brilliant. The notifications I got were prompt and correct. The feature that showed me where my runner was on the course was great! I had it down to a 10 minute window for arriving at aid stations, and I honestly could have had it down to the minute if I wanted. The battery drain on my runner's phone was quite acceptable and best of all configurable! Well done! I hope more races adopt this app.
Enjoyed using it for my half marathon. Made me feel connected to friends who supported me during my training and race.

Downloaded this app to track my son riding his bicycle in this race. Watched the tutorial first & then the set up was easy. Liked that I could watch his progress on a map in real time. Alerts came to me at every 5 miles so I always knew how far he had traveled. I could send him audible cheers along the way. At the end the alert said that he had passed the finish line. I highly recommend this app. Even though I am miles away from the event, the app kept e informed as if I was really there.
