Winlink email in your pocket

Veröffentlicht von: Makena Ventures

Beschreibung

RadioMail provides access to the Winlink amateur radio email system. Compose, read, and reply to messages from anywhere.
A valid amateur radio license is required to use this app.
NETWORK ACCESS・Send and receive messages via telnet using the main Winlink server or through the Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network (AREDN).
RADIO ACCESS・Pair your device with a VARA or KISS TNC packet modem using WiFi or Bluetooth. Packet mode supports the Kenwood TH-D74 and TH-D75 radios via the B.B. Link bluetooth adapter, the Mobilinkd TNC3/4, the PicoAPRS radio, and the DireWolf software TNC. Configuration of up to two digipeaters is possible for packet or VARA FM mode connections. Note for VARA: An operational version of the VARA modem must be available on a separate computer.
BUILT-IN PACKET MODEM・Connect to packet stations via the internal 1200 baud AFSK modem using compatible audio interfaces like the DigiRig Lite or DigiRig VOX cable.
STATION DIRECTORY・Automatic retrieval of station details from Winlink, organized by proximity to your current location. Custom stations can be added for peer-to-peer connections. Note: Peer-to-peer connections are only outbound.
FAVORITES LIST・Save stations to your favorites list for quick access by modes and bands during connection initiation.
PHOTO ATTACHMENTS・Sharing photos is easy with RadioMail. Access your device's camera directly or attach photos from your library. The app optimizes images to reduce transmission time. Preview and annotate received attachments, save to local folders or iCloud, or share via other apps.
FORMS・Compose and view 100+ standard Winlink forms. Forms are kept current with automatic updates. GPS coordinates are pre-filled according to user location. Received forms can be shared or printed as PDFs. Custom specialized forms can be installed by importing a zip file. Note: Form access is an optional premium feature requiring an in-app subscription.
POSITION REPORT・Utilize your phone's internal GPS for accurate location data in position reports, which are posted to the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) network.
NOTIFICATIONS・RadioMail fetches new messages automatically and shows notifications while running in the background, eliminating the need to constantly check for new messages. Note: This feature is only available for telnet connections.
ADDRESSES・Send or receive messages with your primary Winlink account, tactical addresses, or secondary accounts. Seamlessly send messages to Winlink and regular email addresses. Look up contacts from the address book and access their email addresses when composing messages.

RadioMail is independently developed and not affiliated with the Amateur Radio Safety Foundation, Inc. (ARSFI) who supports the Winlink Global Radio Email system.

Works great with Digirig

The built in TNC addition is a real treat, especially on iOS. Working perfectly with a Digirig Lite!

Audio Output diagnostic drops audio to zero

Using the new built in TNC, when I do an “Audio Output Diagnostic” my output volume drops to zero. I have checked, double checked, and triple checked my “Reduce loud audio” option. It’s off. I am using a BTech APRS-K1 Pro cable to connect my iPadPro running iPadOS 18 (updated) and RadioMail (updated) to a GD-88. I can use SSTV (blackcat software) in this configuration. Please advise.

Game Changer

As someone who does everything with their phone, this is a game changer for using Winlink on the go. RadioMail is a must! Also go ahead and subscribe to the forms you will be amazed how easy it is!!

Outstanding

The app just works. Allows 24/7 notification of Winklink email and - amazingly works with Kenwood TH-D74&74 amateur radios. Even has ICS incident forms availability Vary impressed. Author must have hardware understandings. His serial port Bluetooth to BLE Bluetooth hardware- frankly knocks the ball out of the stadium. .

No ax25?

yeetfacket on

The fact this doesn’t have ax25 built in is crazy to me. I have tried every other packet app and been able to send and receive packets with either a headphone adapter or a digirig lite and for some reason the most expensive app is lacking a software tnc. On iPad with digirig APRS.fi is plug and play and even has a software tnc that runs in the background. That isn’t good enough for apple though so it’s locked down. I sure the dev being a perfectionist could do a great implementation of ax25 I just can’t figure out why that wasn’t an earlier step.

Great App well developed!

This App is created with A L O H A! I was a beta tester for this app and have been around since its early days. If you’re a person who likes packet/winlink modes it’s a must have. The developer is very responsive and has made great efforts to expand the capabilities of the app for all users. One of my favorite apps to share among fellow Hams. 🤙

Good tool. Tiered payment

Justt like scrabble on

Good use of tool for Winlink. Easy to use and the feature list is growing. Quick support when there may be a usage problem. There are forms that can be used like in Winlink. For example the ICS-213 form. Usage of the forms, sadly, requires a payment. Up and above paying for the app. This is not great as the use of forms in Winlink is quite fundamental. Hoping that this will change as it is a big disappointment

Easy, and simple

We like iOS products for their seamless integration. RadioMail is very straight forward …and I am not a computer geek. My wife and I use the Mobilinkd TNC4 and it’s so easy. Yes we do pay for the app, but it truly works great! 73

Fantastic

This is a wonderful app, particularly with Varanny. It’ll change frequencies and download Winlink email from Vara FM or HF. We need more Apple ham radio apps. Also, check out Transceive for macOS by the same author. I would love to see rigctld frequency change support added for Direwolf, sound modem, or TNC4
