Reach Student Life Management

Let me start this off by saying that I use this app at my school and I am actually writing this for homework at said school. I still am writing a fully honest review and will not be hard or easy on it for class. This app has several problems, and these make it near unusable for some people. I will split these into groups below. 1. loading related issues This app is notorious at my school for not loading correctly or taking forever to load. I have a quite modern phone and it takes a solid 30+ seconds for it to load. In addition I have an iPad from around 3 years ago, and it can’t even open on that at all. I try to open it and it just the starts to load then crashes. This happens every time and I have tried several over multiple days. I don’t understand why such a simple UI with some location tracking takes to long. 2. Memory related issues This app constantly logs people at my school out, usually once every week or so. In addition, I have had it change my location for me without me either changing it or leaving the location I said I was in. I will get to my class and set it to “in class” and at the end of class it will say “in dorm” or some other location. This is a problem as it literally defeats the purpose of the app, if it can’t even show accurate locations when students use it as they should. 3. Update related issues Reach has a dm system that can be used to message teachers for various reasons, and the idea is to have a way to reach your teachers with a quick question or update that does not need a full email. This is a good system in practice, but when not a single dm I have every sent has ever arrived at the teacher I sent it too. If you have a dm system where not a single dm has ever gone through, why even have one at that point. Final thoughts: This app has a good idea, but the execution is horrible. It is a buggy mess with non functional systems, random log outs, and many other issues. It desperately needs attention, and it got so bad that I am considering starting a student group with the purpose of making our own better app to do the same purpose and giving it to the school for free just to save students the trouble of using this thing. Do better Reach, or we will have to do it for you

i can’t stand that lsmsa makes us use this glitchy app. i would almost rather go back to our old sign out ways then deal with these bugs. it’s constantly signing me out and takes a century to load. i genuinely believe i could make a better app myself.

So a couple of months ago in the summer I had to use this for a camp and it was always really glitchy I never deleted it even as summer ended even whenever I opened the app I side eyed it. It has seem to come back for me. I was shopping at the mall getting a foot massage when I had then realized that I got a notification from reach. I open it and it tells me to I sign in at the bathroom so ofc I go to the bathroom to find the QR code. I only saw my elf in the shelf which was floating there. At the moment I just now had realized that my morning chilli bean tacos had came for me. I tried to hold it in but I just could not take it. I didn’t know what to do but before I could do anything reach had sent me a message. Being terrified I threw my phone which triggered the sensor. I knew I could only save one I grabbed the phone from what was left of the tacos and ran for safety. This is the story on my elf on the shelf died in a public bathroom. R.I.P Elfy

I hate this app. It is just horrible. You can’t save requests and if you try to change something in the request it completely resets and you need to make a completely new one. Worst thing I have ever used
