Read with Ello

I have a special needs child. He is in 7th grade, and hasn’t learned to read. Reading has always been a struggle with him. The schools and I have tried so many different things to help, but he just gets so frustrated and shuts down. We decided to give Ello a try, after seeing an ad for it, but wasn’t optimistic. We have been reading 2 or 3 books most nights, using the app. He well older than the first level I started him out on, so the elephants voice annoys him. Last night he picked the easiest book in the box to start. I offered to read without the app since he is doing so well, he refused saying it had grown on him and he like using it now. For his second book last night, he chose to read a book he had only read once before. Every page he read correctly, and he would fist pump. He was so proud of himself, and the end he did one last fist pump and said “crushed it”! I am so unbelievably happy that for the first time my child is excited about reading. Thank you

My daughter (7) was skeptical at first. But now I come downstairs in the morning to find her reading through books to Ello, requesting pronunciation help with big words, and generally working feverishly to earn the tiny monthly trinket that Ello sends her for reading all the books.

My husband and I were searching for ways to bring back the fun into reading. Voices, taking turns, but you could tell our son wanted to gain that confidence on his own. I'm so grateful we were able to take advantage of Ello's first month subscription. Not even 20 minutes in, our son was hooked. He not only read through each book on his own but went back to read through them all again. We are celebrating all the success Ello has brought into our home & giddy over getting to hear our son read aloud with confidence!

Reading has always been a challenge for my son as he started kindergarten during Covid with masks and remote learning. Ello has given us a fun new approach that allows him to learn while giving him the assistance he needs. The fun videos with real life examples at the end of each story are a bonus! Thanks Ello!

Our daughter and son have different learning styles and motivations. Before Ello, our children lacked the confidence to read independently and practice with texts that challenge them. Using Ello has brought a since of accomplishment, independence and enthusiasm for reading that no other app has done. They look forward to their new box every month and compete with each other to earn prizes for reading more that the other.

Ever since COVID hit, my daughter has not been able to go to school due to her health. This app has become a main source for her to start reading and she is been doing great! She also loves the books and the fact that the books are delivered quick adds value to the program.

My granddaughter enjoys the books and has benefited greatly. I’m very pleased with the technology. Thank for developing this educational program.

I love the concept and my daughter loves it as well...It encourages and pushing her with her reading. Sometimes Ello does freeze which causes her to get frustrated when she has read the right words but Ello is not catching it to move forward. I highly recommend because as a parent I love how excited she gets.
