Not the best of apps but it does what it’s intended in the main. The placement of the home button during assignments is so problematic as it’s easily pressed and returns your child to the start of the process without any validation. This is super frustrating as all progress is lost. Having had this happen multiple times to our son, I felt it worth flagging as just asking whether the child really wants to quit would avoid this.
I bought this app with highest of hopes. And at £80 a year, it should be perfect. Content is fab. However, I have had the same problem 4 times. My kids are unable to progress at the end of EACH exercise. Support kindly replies and forwards them on but when this happens every time they use it, it just stops them from even using it. I’m stuck, I have bought an expensive product which I can’t use . Very dissatisfied. Find something else!
TERRIBLE AND BAD
I’m so happy you found her a new job she really loves it she’s been doing so good and I hope she’s happy with the new position she’s been doing so well she’s really good she was just trying not in her own world but I just don’t think it’s going anywhere but she’s a very happy girl I think she’ll get along great she has her family in her lives I know she’s not going nowhere I know she’s just trying not be mean.
Really good and fun way to learn my daughter loves travelling around the maps and seeing her progress. The learning methods are inline with what she’s taught in school. My only issue with the App is it sometimes loses sound and you have to reboot hopefully that can be fixed on the next patch.
The fast phonic lessons are working fine but the audio isn’t working in the games for me. This renders several of them as guesswork and removes the educational value. We did the games on stages 2, 4 and 6 and all were silent. This also happened when we tried it on the browser.
I cannot express how good this app is for children, my child is ADD and he really struggles with siting still and staying engaged for a very short period of time, however this app keeps him engaged at all times with the animations along the way, he loves it when I print out his certificates and I find the parents data very helpful.
As a homeschooling parent, I can honestly say I would be lost without this app. I have used it regularly since me son was learning to read. He is now 10 and still uses it for spellings, reading comprehension and maths. As you can have more than one child’s profile on your account, my 5 year old daughter is now learning to read on it too. She is doing the phonics and maths programmes and asks for Reading Eggs in her free time! Both children really love the games and rewards too. I have never wanted to use any other app as both children have done so well with this. It’s easy to use and I love that you can adjust the level to suit the child at any time. I have also made good use of the lesson worksheets available. I often recommend this to friends or other homeschooling parents as I can’t fault it, it’s my absolute lifeline! I’m yet to hear one of my children complain about it! 100% recommended, whether you’re homeschooling or not.
My 5-year old started using the app last year. He has been using it regularly for a year and now he has an estimated reading age of a seven-year old. All on his own. He’s a confident reader at school. Many thanks Reading Eggs!
It doesn’t say the sounds as they learn in school so just confuses the child
