RealityScan - 3D Scanning App

Epic Games login wound up endlessly looping confirmation screens and verification prompts. Incredibly frustrating.

One needs to log into an account before they are able to do anything with the app. This isn’t explained in the description and we aren’t told why it’s required. App deleted.

I find it odd that it defaults to asking you to sign into your epic games account, but alright, I proceeded. After that, it said my email and password are incorrect. I checked on the PC and sure enough, my password and email worked fine. I tried about 6 times and it kept saying my credentials were incorrect. I tried a secondary epic games account, same thing happened. I even created a new account using the app, but no luck. It then provides other methods, such as signing into Google and a few others (these are secondary options to the epic games option). Xbox and Nintendo were also options for logging in. Honestly, I find it really sketchy. It should work and sign in fine, my credentials were correct. There’s no way I’d trust logging into my email through this app, and maybe you shouldn’t either. Time to change my epic games password.

The best free app for the iPhone 13 without LiDAR technology. Fantastic tool! This has been a great tool and soon I will be integrating my scans to various projects! I love Epic Games for being so giving. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to scan my friend's household statues and immediately have results within a short period of waiting times for its rendering.

I have been using this app for scanning of mechanical objects and I really love using it. 1. Wide angle lens Selection: I find scanning the smaller interior of a cab to be near impossible without being able to select my wide angle lens on my iPhone 11. I am forced to take separate photos and export to the big brother of this app, Reality Capture. Processing then takes hours on an Nvidia Cuda enabled video card only. Can’t use my powerful AMD card. 2. Export and usage of app data into Reality Capture. I’d like to export meshes and point cloud data into Reality Capture or to Sketchup or AutoCAD. 3. Vehicles I am scanning are over 16 feet tall could you please include a remote app on the Apple Watch and Compatibility for the DJI Osmo panning and tilt features so I could trigger this remotely on the end of a pole?? 4. I am getting some really amazing results using the Autodesk 3D Studio Max Retopology modifiers. Is there a way Epic could extend their Autodesk TwinMotion partnership into the inclusion of a Retopology filter? 5. Along with Retopology you could include some kind of shape recognition if something is flat it could be flat if it is square it could be square if cylindrical it could be a cylinder. These are basic still life art concepts. This would make wheels and objects like railings a lot more natural, then the normal map could be applied. Could identify and user could confirm each recognized surface. Thanks Epic. Love what you’re doing!

Did everything right. Proper lighting, non reflective item being scanned, and a QR-style 3D scanning placemat. Constantly gives me errors. Either my photos misalign after taking like 10 of them, or the camera throws an error about losing placement or something. iPhone SE 2020 & iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen.
