I have been using this resident portal for a long time easy and convenient to request for maintenance is the best tool
My apartment complex recently switched us over to using Resident Portal and so far it seems like a solid app aside from a few things that could added to improve usability such as the ability to add further photos or update information to submitted work orders in the maintenance section. Or even a way to “ping” maintenance for an update on work orders. Also a “Community” option to communicate or meet with other residents in your community to organize events and things.
Pro: there’s a lot of features bundled into this one app, it seems. Con: it’s fails on the most rudimentary basics and is the most buggy experience I’ve ever come across. Eg. Entering a maintenance ticket has thrown some sort of unresolvable error, every time. Most common error “problem description is required” shows up 100%, even with a text description that has any sort of special character removed. And last week I got a confirmation of my ticket (heat not working at below freezing outdoor temps) being submitted, only to find out it’s nowhere to be found, on my end nor on the property side. I’m freezing my behind off for a week because of a phantom ticket. The experience else where (like safari) is not much better, but that’s not relevant here. Please hire ONE QA tester, since it seems you don’t have any based on the user experience.

Running the latest iOS version and version of this app as of this review, yet again Accessability using VoiceOver has been broken. The payment portal is now broken for voiceover users. Selecting your payment type, entering a note, and selecting a payment option are now not accessible. Three weeks ago it was. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! This app worked three weeks ago and now with the latest update, you have made the app worse! I just want to pay my rent like everybody else.
I am running iOS 18.1.1 with the VoiceOver screen reader. There are a number of issues with the payments tab in resident portal using a screen reader. First, I attempt to double tap the expand button for the payment methods selector. This gesture for a blind or low vision user does not work. Furthermore, I have to turn on Screen, recognition and image recognition for the Apple Pay and money order options to even be visible with voiceover. Note, that these issues started with the adoption of the new one tap payment system. Likewise, I double tap the other payment amount button to key in a custom value, And this cannot be selected using the typical voiceover gesture either. I contacted customer service and was told that no support was provided for residence, even though accessibility in the ability to pay rent independently are essential functions. There should be a system in place to reach a developer if accessibility issues arise. Do better, Entrata. This was working correctly in the previous version, and I do not understand why accessibility had to be broken with the latest addition. Also, if I double tap the memo button to add a payment note, the screen is not read off at all, and the keyboard does not appear.
Quick and easy
Fix your plaid connection. The amount of times I’ve had to reconnect my account with plaid is crazy, just for it to not connect, give me an error message, & it’s already connected. Then when I try again, it says there’s a plaid error & to reconnect. I know it’s a third party, but you can work out the terms of how long bank accounts stay connected.
