Autoplay hypocrisy
Even when the setting allowing autoplay is turned off, videos autoplay anyway. This annoyance and breach of agreement makes me want it on my phone. Deleting.

In order to gain full access to the Reuters app, you will need to sign-in / register and complete the subscription process within the app. Subscriptions are not available in certain territories. Your subscription plan renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Payment will be charged by Apple at confirmation of your subscription purchase.
Your account will be charged (in advance) automatically for renewal at the applicable price and at the selected frequency (whether monthly, annually or another period) within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage your subscription and disable auto-renewal by accessing your Apple Account Settings after purchase (at least 24 hours before the end of your current billing period). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Pic of the day item now gone, Currency in markets missing Thai baht etc - ios 14 ipad pro
In version 5 the great “pic of the day” item is missing from the relocate sidebar menu. BRING IT BACK. In the Markets - currency feature many currencies are not even displayed andno way to be added. Ie the Thai baht is missing & can’t be added. Even in the calculator part. Please bring pic of the day/week back as a root level menu item. It provides a great break from depressing text news. Prior to ver 5 review: This WAS my main new app. But since upgrading to IOS 14.4 the app never loads beyond flashing the Mark Zuckerberg pic (intro to build your feed settings before the app runs) To make matters worse ie IMPOSSIBLE. No matter how many times I delete it or remove it and with or without removing personal data in settings. It never runs. In the app store it still shows the icloud symbol with arrow even though I never used icloud with this ipad.... ie it seems it is retaining something that is now corrupt... because I never get a virgin copy that works. Before this stage I used to be able to get this to run but if I closed the window it would crash forcing me to get a new copy. I did this tactic for about 40 times over a month or two till now it doesn’t even load at all beyond the stupid Zuckerberg pic that flashes for split second then crashes leaving a crippled app that I have to manually delete. Between the handicapped IOS and the app store it just doesn’t work with no tools to clear things out to get a virgin copy. The apple forum told me to contact the developer because they have no clue either. Good Grief. too bad one of the richest companies can’t pay staff to actually fix things... they just care about selling more of them.
App crash
App immediately close after opening. Has been crashing for a long time and developers have not updated the app.

Trust worthy news
In an era of politicized news sources I am always looking for trustworthy news. While bias is instilled in any writers efforts, I enjoy a solid, well established news source like Reuters. Solid, writing, solid reporting. Besides I’m too cheap to pay for the NYT!

Videos don’t work
None of the videos play in the app, but I can play videos on the website using Safari. Which makes this app useless.
Obsolete
Charging users to read stories destroyed Reuters reputation with me. You guys were the only ones to counterbalance AP but AP doesn’t charge a fee. You just became obsolete to me. Look how low you are in ranked in news apps. This is why! I can understand charging for a newspaper, but not for Reuters. Reuters should have left that alone. Now nobody is gonna read you guys and the world story dies with your failed news app. Nobody is gonna pay a subscription for World News. It kills your trustworthiness because news reports for money is a scam. You get money from advertising. You don’t need my $4. Uninstalled. So much for informing the world.
