Poor app
Every single time I reopen the app it's completely frozen, so I have to restart it. And in general the app is not very responsive

Thanks to Huberman for recommending this.
The title says it all. This app was recommended by Huberman on his podcast about sleep, so I had great expectations. Turns out Reveri only has two tracks for sleep. Do you seriously expect people to 15 EUR a month for that? Worse, the hypnosis sessions are super short. (7mn ish) and the content is average. (Why talking about insomnia and big problems when you are trying to relax the listeners?)
I’m trying to like this app, because I respect the the people and the science behind it. But I feel it’s not quite there yet. I’m struggling to keep using it even though I am fully committed to exploring hypnosis and self-hypnosis. First, the app looks way too much like the early versions of the Headspace app, only duller. I even wonder if it could be the same team behind it. The interface borrows too much and it lacks a clear and personal experience. Second, I listened to Dr Spiegel in various podcasts and videos and I find that in this app, his warm, reassuring voice and personality have been reduced to a somewhat robotic tone. It makes me feel sad. The sound team seems to have missed the mark. Finally, the exercices are very repetitive and even if repetition is the key to progress, it becomes often hard to find motivation when you know you’ll always get the same synopsis and recording. What’s the point of a subscription if it is to play static recordings? Would be better off buying the recordings once. The intentions behind this app are unclear to me. Has it been made to capitalize on the trend of self-help apps and retain users in a recurring subscription for guided sessions? Or does it want to really share the science, teach me self-hypnosis to become autonomous and therefore uninstall it soon. Self hypnosis is similar to meditation: once initiated, you don’t need an app to practice. To summarize: clear intentions, a smarter and more personal design and experience, Dr Spiegel as he is in real life and variable content would maybe give me reasons to keep the (expensive) subscription going. After Reveri’s reply: « Quality over Quantity » and « growing team » are antithetical. Human health does not need a business plan. Headspace held similar words in their early days before becoming the bloated marketing-driven company we know today. You want to free people, not tie them in your « growing » system on a subscription. The world doesn’t need another Headspace. Your initial intention is very respectable, but the implementation (and pricing) are IMHO very wrong and somewhat close-minded (ironically). I’ll reach out.
Disclaimer: I only tried two out of six sessions („focus“ and „relaxing“). Cool feature that it is kind of interactive. The voice recognition works well. The procedures themselves are quite similar: Start with a „ritual“ (e.g., look up, close eyes, relaxe, hand in the air). Then you should focus, or remember stuff from the past (that made you happy/ feel good) depending on the topic. After that you test if it feels okay/better and continue. If not you can take more time to get into a state of wellbeing. I think it’s okay, and certainly it will help many people, for me, I think meditation - aka the Waking Up App was way more helpful and versatile. This one feels a little bit like a „lite“ version of that. Nevertheless, this one also takes less time to follow and doesn’t feel as painful to learn.
Disappointed that suddenly the app is very expensive - just for a new look. But yeah, was nice as long as it lasted🤷🏼♂️
Very good app and programs. How about adding a dark mode or offering the app in dark colors only? I made the experience that when I actually need the sessions or have time for it the bright design of the app kicks me back to reality a bit too quickly. Just an idea.
This app is a very simple and effective hypnosis tool.
Useful information presented streamlined manner
The Home Screen is too large for the iPhone 12. I can’t tell where I am in the app. There doesn’t seem to be an app support link on the home page where it sends you when you click “app support.” Frustrating.
