REWORK_ (Philip Glass Remixed) ist eine interaktive Tour durch das aufregende neue REWORK_ Album, das die Musik von Philip Glass neu mischt. Die App beinhaltet elf interaktive Visualisierungen für die neu gemischten Lieder, zusammen mit einer interaktiven “Glas-Maschine”, die euch eure eigene Musik kreieren lässt, mit der Inspiration der frühen Musikstücke von Philip Glass.
Die Idee für das REWORK_ Album entstand während einer Unterhaltung zwischen Philip Glass und seinem Freund und neuen Mitarbeiter Beck. Sie holten sich den Produzenten Hector Castillo (David Bowie, Björk, Lou Reed), der ihnen helfen sollte, eine Sammlung an Remixes der Werke Glass’ anhand einer Liste von anerkannten Künstlern, zu denen auch Beck selbst gehört, zusammenzustellen; darunter befinden sich Tyondai Braxton, Amon Tobin, Cornelius, Dan Deacon, Johann Johannsson, Nosaj Thing, Memory Tapes, Silver Alert, Pantha du Prince, My Great Ghost und Peter Broderick.
Um das Album abzurunden und um den Fans eine interaktive Musikerfahrung zu schenken, hat der App-Entwickler Snibbe Studio (Erschaffer von Björk’s Biophilia App) die REWORK_ App entwickelt.

How Come

Well, right now I am not very happy with this App that I already purchased. It was pricey at 9.99 and it was an interesting App, but now, it crashes.....doesn't even Open after I select the 1st choice from the menu. Very, very Sad!

elegant and effective

a beautiful work that really demonstrates the artistic possibilities of using the basics, such as simple primitives and spring physics, to create a work that truly necessitates the power of its medium. kind of like a well-tempered clavier of generative design. impressively and appropriately mirrors glass' music by seeming to take the shape of minimalist simplicity to deliver a message of subtly complex and structurally cohesive beauty. i love this app and all the music it involves and will be recommending it to any and all digital artists i can.
