Super for learning about rhythm
I am not a musician, although I love rhythm. Also, I am a visual learner so this is an excellent tool for teaching oneself about rhythm.

This app provides a marvelously innovative approach to understanding and creating rhythmic patterns. It has profoundly changed how I think about music. It’s hard to overstate the value and simplicity of the insights the app provides using these rotationally symmetric patterns. It takes a little mind bending to wrap your brain around the possibilities, but it has now become an essential tool for me. Bravo to the creators!!
The mail functionality is broken and there isn’t an option to save/export a MIDI file to your file system. I tried my iPhone 13 with iOS 16.1.1 and an old iPad mini 2 with iOS 12.5.6. The app itself is fantastic aside from not being able to use the fruits of your labor. I really hope the original developer addresses these shortcomings or passes the app on to someone that can.
Intuitive and flexible // balance and chaos are always a step away // you’ll find poly rhythms forever // I only wish I had found this sooner
love using this app to come up with weird wonky rhythms. its really good for laid back swung type grooves
the emailing function doesn’t work unfortunately
An intuitive and fun way to map out complex rhythms. Controls and settings are easy to use and very effective. I think this is the coolest way to create a visual of beats that make up rhythms and grooves
Rhythm Necklace is a easy and elegant way to make odd meter and polyrhythmic practice grooves. Highly recommended.
As a companion to this app, I would recommend: “The Geometry of Musical Rhythm” by Godfried Toussaint, CRC Press.
Used 65% of my battery today running I. The background.
