Ride COLT

Not being able to see a live map until you’re next is a massive inconvenience worsened by the 10 minute time range and the inaccurate ETA system. Scheduling makes the aforementioned issues less palatable since it is never an outright success (it ranges from passable and functional to obtuse and frustrating), and even when things do work as intended you still have the infamous “your bus is late” which I know is unavoidable but it’s the thing that made me write this review because it keeps happening and I have no accurate ETA for my ride even as I write, edit, and publish this review.

For an on demand bus system you’d think it would be available more often but every time I’ve literally tried to book a ride a day in advance only for it to be “in high demand” is interesting because almost every time I’ve seen a colt bus around town no one is in it. That or one person which is wild given the fact that it seats at least 12 people because again it is a bus not a taxi so it should be picking more people up instead of one per bus. It also does not run on Sundays and doesn’t run past 3pm on Saturdays so getting a ride is almost impossible given that it’s never available even within running hours. In addition to that when I had went to book a ride one day and went through the payment process, I finished and it said no rides available after I had already paid. So my card was charged but I didn’t get a ride, then when I called them they said since I didn’t have a screenshot of when it happened I couldn’t get a refund but my bank statement hadn’t arrived yet so I couldn’t prove that it was them even though I knew it was. Bank statement arrived and low a behold it was a charge from colt despite me never getting my ride. Hopefully they will implement a legitimate bus system in Cochrane so no one will be forced to use this poor excuse for a bus service anymore.

I love using colt to get around town but I can never get a ride at the time I want. It will always say that they are unavailable but I’ll see like 5 empty busses just driving around, should make it so then u can just pay to get on and have regular stops, like Calgary.

Excellent service. The buses have all been prompt , the bus drivers pleasant and the trip peaceful and calm.

I have had great experiences with colt when it has been available. It very hard to get a bus at any time any where. I feel the app could also be better set up and easier for people to use.

You can never get a bus when required even though it suppose to be on demand service. Pick up or drop off changes last minute. App some times it’s impossible to add credit as it doesn’t process the credit card have to try sometimes ten times then it works.

Make you buy packs of 10 tickets @ 45$. Then don’t even offer the core services of what they say they do. Tried taking this “transit system” about 5 times and have had ONE successful ride. The other times the bus doesn't show up or the driver has no information that you booked it and they just take your ticket fare. Rinse and repeat. 1 star because 0 stars isn't possible.

I wish there was an actual bus service in Cochrane instead of having to book in advance. Scheduling is weird and buses are usually late. There’s nothing in our neighbourhood so the app always says unavailable instead of finding the stop closest to us (11 min walk away). It’s fine, but not great. I also wish I could take the bus to church, but there’s no service on Sundays or on Saturday’s after three. Inconvenient.

This is a joke right? Charter a bus? Are you kidding me? The app is garbage, there’re days when it doesn’t work. And colt as service is a joke and will take you on a tour of town rather then be a service.
