Love the potential of the app! Hope there can be implemented some extras like Qobuz, Tidal, etc… integration via UPnP. I’m having some issues with the experimental UPnP features(but that’s understandable for now), for instance, if I modify the volume it’s working fine, but the Moode web interface won’t recognise the change, even after restart. I’ve changed the mode from UPnP A/V to OpenHome protocol, otherwise won’t work at all. Keep up the good work!

Solid app with a clean, native UI, that’s well laid out / nicely designed. Does everything you’d expect and works flawlessly with my headless MPD sever. Happy to pay a few quid a year if it keeps this app going.

I bought a Chord Poly a few years ago and, while it was easy to use as a Roon end point or an Airplay streaming client, my experience of it as a DNLA sever (reading off the micro-SD card slot) was awful. I have tried both Glider and 8PlayerPro, the performance was patchy even on a shared network let alone using the phone as a Wi-fi hit spot. In desperation I started researching MDP players on iPhone and this is the first I tried. Finally! A flawless, fluid and robust experience using the internal SD card as the data source. This is a modern and good looking app that not only works simply, reliably and quickly, but to me is a 100 times more functionality rich than those DNLA apps I mentioned. I never bother writing app reviews, but was so delighted by my experience that here I am doing one after submitting a 5 star rating!

A slick and polished experience. Not like any MPD app I have ever used.

The moode web interface is pretty good, the one this app gives is so much better. If mode is working auto discovery and wnd playin music in minutes Subscription, cost is cheap, less than 1p a day. If this enables new features and big fixes the I am all for it

Works nicely on iPadOS, both as a full-screen collection browser and as a slide-over controller.

Works really well, it’s near-flawless in fact. I’m currently considering what the paid-for subscription model adds to the feature mix.

I paid for Mpad and enjoyed using it. But now it has been removed from the App Store to be replaced with this, I have for a new iPad and cannot control my hifi any longer. Considering I have already paid for your MPD controller app do you think you could give me access to this new version?

This appears to be new software based on the work of the author of MPaD, but it's really a step backwards and not as good. The reasons are: 1) Rigelian only really works in landscape mode because otherwise the navigation is hidden from view. MPaD worked perfectly in landscape or portrait mode 2) Rigelian has a dumbed down interface with less buttons, so it takes more button presses, more scrolling and the need to flip to landscape mode to achieve the same outcome as you can with much less effort in MPaD. 3) The playlist in Rigelian might be only one click away, but with MPaD it was always visible and usable, zero clicks away. 4) MPaD had letters A-Z next to artist and album lists so you can quickly hit (e.g.) letter "S" to see all artists starting with that letter without loads of scrolling. Rigelian doesn't have this. 5) MPaD has almost everything you need available on the screen at one time: playlist, now playing, transport controls, album, artist, browse, volume control, search, settings, whilst still leaving most of the space for browsing through album, artists, songs etc. Rigelian somehow manages to have less screen real estate for browsing through artists / albums whilst also leaving out the majority of the instant access buttons and controls of MPaD. I had high hopes for this but I'm sadly disappointed. Please just update MPaD for the latest iOS versions and release it! The solution for me is going to be as follows: Avoid updating my iPad OS version so I can continue to use MPaD. It is the sole reason I have avoided updating my iPaD and things will stay that way until MPaD is updated or Rigelian gets significantly better.
