Roam Mobile

I have been with Roam for years, waiting for them to improve at least as fast as the other platforms. However, they are so slow and their app is a total disappointment. Now I’m thinking of transferring all my notes to a more reliable and promising service. It is sad because I started with the Roam about 4 years ago ans thout this is it, this is the ultimate note-taking app that i would need.

I love roam research. I’ve played with all the competitors and nothing comes close for research and academia. The mobile app is decent. It actually has full Roam functionality unlike competitors like Tana that can only do quick capture.

It keeps saying “Before using the mobile app, create a graph on the desktop or web app”. I did and refresh times but it’s still not working. Also, the Support center is not working. The chat room lags so much and not helpful. How dare the app charge money with the sucks support center!💢

Forget Evernote, Notion, and any clones out there. Before Roam I was collecting notes and never going back to them, my Evernote and Apple Notes were packed with a useless mess of text, and tagging never helped. ADHD always made it hard for me to organize and remember where I put things in my notes. Roam is completely different. The app intelligently links your notes into a graph and builds up connections over time, so the bigger your collection the more useful it is! It’s relieving to know that you can trust the system and never worry about forgetting things ever again. Roam Research is the most intuitive and powerful tool for note taking, research, zettlekasten, ontology, project management, relational and graph modelling, interstitial journaling, get-it-done productivity, and tracing your thoughts/thinking back to the source. The “Daily Notes” page is brilliant and is eventually going to be copied by every other note app. Every page and line of text is linked together, and you can add a ToDo anywhere in your notes which is fantastic for keeping in the flow of your work. I can’t recommend this app enough, it will completely change your thinking about notes and productivity.

The app requires redesign and some thought put into using it on a mobile device, it’s very unintuitive. I am deleting it and will keep using on laptop.

I’ve been with Roam for years now and waited patiently for a standalone app. Glad it’s finally arrived. It’s got its quirks which they will iron out—BUT!—unless I’m missing something the app is utterly un-useable with a Magic Keyboard [on a 2021 iPad Pro]. Ie: “Return”, “delete”, and other functions don’t map in the app.

I wish I didn't update the app. Terrible update.

This latest iteration of Roam Mobile is a great user experience, and finally allows you to use Roam in a native way on iOS.

For a long time, I’ve been unable to use the app because I always get this error: “Your graph is too large, try opening another graph.” Now I use phonetonote to enter information to Roam on the go. But I still don’t have a way to access my graph.

Roam Research is the best tool for note taking. Ive been using it since 2020 and its been rock solid for me. The initial hype at its launch has waned considerably, but I still find it faster, easier, and more effective than its competitors. If you’re new or haven’t tried it in a while, I highly encourage you to give it a shot. The mobile app in particular has come out ahead big time.
