Lesson structure is brilliant. Pity it’s completely unusable because the app doesn’t listen to you. Usually it works, but multiple times each lesson it just says “sorry, didn’t catch that”. Even playing the app’s own audio to itself it doesn’t work, so it’s not my pronounciation.
The voice recognition doesn’t work properly, I even recorded the apps own audio and played it back (instead of speaking) and it did not even recognise that. The company blamed this on Google/Apple AI… The language recognition on all my other apps works well, so that didn’t make any sense to me. Blue tooth headphones not working with the app is a known issue apparently. Again my (Bose) Bluetooth headphones work with all my other apps. So far I have spent much more time trying to fix technical issues than I have in actually learning anything. This app is definitely not worth the amount of money they are charging.
I bought the full French course. I love so much of the way this course is put together and I initially progressed well. I did however struggle with the bizarre and unnecessary sexist language of the male host Paul. Pitched as somehow jovial, it was really off putting and I found myself really disliking Paul. And that was enough to stop practicing. In this century there is no excuse and I can’t believe the course was produced for a modern audience. Very disappointing.
This app makes it fun to learn Japanese, though a few bugs With pronunciation it’s overall a very good learning app :)
I love Rocket French in general, but the speech recognition could definitely be improved.
I have paid for some apps that only teach you words. This is hopeless for learning a language. You must know how to create a sentence & know how to speak. Rocket has a voice recorder that WILL teach you how to pronounce the word or sentence correctly. I highly recommend this app to anyone wanting to learn a language. (Also this app has real world senecios, such as restaurants,airports, hotel, hospital) Give it a go worth the money..Steve Sydney Australia…. :)
Recording and rating is really good. It is really hard to learn a tonal language but this the chance to practice practice practice…!
Awesome app. Really breaks it down to understand and translate meaning of the German language. I’m still learning but really good to reference back when I forgot something. Super fur fur danke
A generally excellent app but very annoying as regards picking up consistently on correct (or incorrect) German pronunciation- mostly okay but seems to be annoyingly unable to pick up certain sounds?
I have been enjoying using rocket languages to learn German via the website but wanted to give the app a go. The app will not accept my login details from the website and it won’t let me create a new account.
