This company is pathetic and a scam. I don’t understand how anyone thinks paying to see messages is even a little bit reasonable. I hope the devs either wake up or their app fails miserably. Either would be good with me

Roomster is a very easy to use app. Not complicated at all. Once downloaded, you tell us what you are looking for and we provide you access to an every growing list of spare rooms and Flatmates. There are 4 steps and that's it.
1. Create an account using your phone number
2. Validate your account.
3. Tell us what you are looking for.
4. Send messages to people you think would be good to live with.
Any Questions? We have 24/7 customer service on the app with a chat feature provided by Intercom. There is always a live person available, when times are busy a representative will get back to you at the earliest chance.
In many ways Roomster is like dating for Flatmates, and much like those apps, Roomster is a freemium service and we charge for communication between users. Your iTunes account will be charged at confirmation of your purchase and will automatically renew for the same price and duration period as the original package. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings on the device. If you haven’t subscribed via iTunes, you can manage your subscription through Roomster.
Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period
Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal

Doesn’t work well
I bought the subscription and fork day one couldn’t open any messages the support is no help !!
pay to read messages????
this app is useless if you can’t exchange messages. & $12 for a single week is RIDICULOUS.
Bad experience
There is a scam on this site that makes you subscribe, and there are some people from the site itself who message you to subscribe, and when you subscribe or respond to the messages, there is no response at all.
Overpriced
The fact you have to pay to message anyone or look at certain things is ridiculous. Yet we’re all desperate and willingly to pay.
Charging
Most sites regarding roommate finders do not charge the person looking. However; without warning you start charging the person looking for them just to see their messages. Very uncool.
Blasted With Spam
Roomster allows (and encourages) users to blast messages out to EVERYONE in an certain radius. Your inbox becomes saturated with messages that really aren’t for you or your listing. When you pay (quite a lot) to access your inbox, you are paying to get bombarded by useless spam. DON’T. There is a 1/500 chance that you’ll get a useful message, and you will have a hard time finding it.
SCAM/FRAUD
Stay away from this app at all costs. It is a cheap scam that is filled with fake accounts or scammers that work for the app and pretend to be an actual users. You will get a bunch of fake texts but you won’t know it until it is too late because they are locked behind a subscription wall. Once you subscribe you will realize that all the texts that you received were nothing broad and vague general statements made by these fake accounts like someone talking about themselves with no regard to you or your listing by any way. There are also users that text and talk to you for real but they actually work for this scammy app. One user is about 2 girls that are looking for one room, they describe themselves as “singles” and mention some sexual hints in their description like cuddling. Please take this app down i don’t understand how such apps are allowed to exist and scamm people!!!!

You literally have to pay to see the messages lol like I’m just trying to find a roof over my head d+++n 🙄🙄
