Rove Dash Cam

The app is horrible. Can’t even play 5 seconds of the video before it stops. Takes forever to download the videos. It’s been like this for over an year. Please fix it because I shouldn’t have to pull out a laptop to get the videos off my dash cam when there’s an whole app on my phone for that.

Ever since the last update (May 2024) you can’t record while connected to your phone via WIFI connection, camera only records while WiFi mode is off. Prior to the update I could connect to the camera and have a live view of the recording while I was in the sleeper berth of my semi truck basically I could see what was going on, now you can only view recorded clips.

This app seems OK. But despite trying to update the firmware many times, it never updates. The process begins, but doesn't get applied.

I’ve had this camera for over two years. In that time there has been several app updates. With each update, I’ve managed to get the app functioning with the camera. The latest update, however, requires me to enter the serial number for my camera, which I have done repeatedly and have not been able to get the camera to connect to the app. Therefore, having the camera is now useless. Looking for other options at this point, maybe from a well-known Japanese or American brand that would actually function.

I needed to retrieve a video so I opened the app and it asked me to sign up for an account. I did and it said a confirmation email was sent, but I actually never received one (it’s not in my junk folder or anywhere else to be found). Therefore, I can’t get into my dash cam videos. There is no customer support or anyone I can talk to. This is very frustrating and a known issue as pointed out by other people on Facebook and Reddit. I would give Rove zero stars if I could. The signup process is ridiculous and renders the product useless.

I like this dash cam. This dash cam delivers clear and crisp video. I only wish the videos were stored in the app and were accessible even when you’re not near the dash cam. I purchased two of dash cams for my vehicles.

You can’t access the videos unless you are connected to the camera WiFi or with the memory card. You can’t just pull up the video on your phone you have to download the video. When I watched the video on my phone it would play for 2 seconds and then it freeze. I tried downloading the video and it was so slow and it stopped and 97% and wouldn’t go any further. The app is useless.

My system was functioning optimally until recently. The issue began with the system falsely indicating that the memory card is full, despite it being empty. This problem persists across many memory cards. Additionally, the Wi-Fi functionality on the machine is currently non-functional. I reached out to this customer support technician. I have not received a response from anyone.

The videos through the app don’t always work, especially the older ones. If I leave the app, even though I’m connected to the WiFi, I have to reconnect for some reason. I just feel there are better ones out there. This one does the job but I want to be abele to do everything through the app not my computer.
