Hmmm
This has to be the strangest version of Gin Rummy I have ever played. The object of the game is to get “out” as soon as possible. It is not to amass a score. So there is absolutely no incentive to build up a high score through runs/melds. If another player gets out before you, then, if your score exceeds 500 points, you are out. The basis of gin rummy is that you aim for the highest score possible and then, if you are given out, your remaining cards are deducted from your scored points. The way this game is structured is the opposite. That’s where the negative points score comes in. And the result is that the player with the highest score wins. It seems that the designer of this version misunderstands the basic concept of gin rummy. And all it takes is for the coding to be changed ever so slightly to reflect the correct basis. All in all it’s still fun but I wouldn’t pay for it until the changes are made. To the developers, download several other versions of gin rummy to see what I’m talking about. Cheers.
