Used to be a great app with a lot of jobs but for some time now it’s only been giving Royal Mail. This trend has been happening a lot with all these little courier services Pingr, Gigable, Stuart & now Ryde, where they start off great & after some time they dry up. If you actually want good courier work I would suggest just doing Uber eats, deliveroo or just eat
Concerning issue with our rights
I recently had an unfortunate experience with Ryde's support team. Despite concerns about my performance and a request for a detailed report, the support member Goncalo repeatedly ignored my inquiries, displaying an extreme bias by accepting the agency's word without evidence. When I asked to escalated the issue to a higher team member, my chat was abruptly closed, and seemed to me that (Goncalo) didn’t want to help and instead used a scripted chat which is probably given to him prior to use with all clients.
This incident highlights a concerning power dynamic where workers may face consequences without proper justification. It's disheartening to see a support team failing to fulfill its role in addressing concerns and providing assistance. My hope is that this matter can be resolved and Ryde should look into their support team, but the current experience has left me deeply upset, and I believe it's important for others to be aware of these issues.
Cancelled shifts
While working for Ryde, they operate a 4 strike sytem, if you don’t clock in on time you get -2 points, if you are late -1 point, I have always been on time for shifts yet I got -2 for not clocking in and my account was suspended and all my shifts were cancelled and they didn’t do anything to reinstate them, I lost out £1000 as all my shifts were cancelled (10 shifts) there was no compensation no apologies, no nothing, the reply time is an absolute disgrace, they never ever help, money was never paid in on time, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
No job and Failure to protect the rider
I was once accused by a Royal Mail employee of illegally parking in a bar parking lot and was fined 100 pounds, but I did not arrive at the parking lot that day. No matter how you explain it, no one believes it. This company did not help me. Instead, it said that customers come first and could not help me continue the investigation. This is an injustice I will never forget.
Manager didn’t even know I was coming
I showed up to my first shift and the manager didn’t even know what RYDE was. There was no way for me to check in, there was no parcels ready so I just left after wasting 2 hours. Very unprofessional, don’t put shifts on if they’re not actually available!
The doesn’t let me sign up
The doesn’t let me sign up whenever I press gender to put my details it in won’t let me select
No jobs
For the past many months there’s is 0 jobs. I have emailed ryde asking about this and all I’m told is in the next few weeks we will have jobs.
You have been dying this for 6 months this platform is done and there’s nothing you may as well shut down
Good while it lasted
For a month or so I did shifts for Royal Mail in multiple locations. The ones that used the PDAs were best as they worked flawlessly with no connection issues, scanned barcodes instantly, and fit in the PDA mounts in vans. Some depots require you to deliver with the Ryde app which isn’t functional with poor connectivity and often gets stuck on the delivery photo submission so you cannot progress to the next delivery. Also the scanning is much slower and it requires several screens of confirmation of arrival, customer in/unavailable etc instead of all options on same screen. And it also means you have to supply your own phone mount in order to drive safely.
Getting pay for overtime is an ordeal as Ryde require confirmation from Royal Mail but it is hard to get a manager to remember to email. Or maybe they do and Ryde ignore.
Main criticism now is that there is simply no work. For the past week or so I have checked daily over the whole country including all major cities and not seen a single shift for Royal Mail or anything else. My preferred depot is also no longer showing as a pin on the map. Makes me think maybe Ryde is losing Royal Mail as a customer and struggling to find new customers?
No job notifications
Since joining the app, I used to get a lot of notifications but now I’ve not received a single notification in over a month.
Birmingham city
