SABC News app

Can’t Open or Share any articles to read from another browser device etc. ! Also no tech support help for app on my iOS devices! As a Canadian who lived in Southern Africa years ago I’m desperate for news on if my friends in Mozambique are safe! Livid that I’ve wasted 2 hours this morning on multiple devices just trying to access some local English news sources I thought were reliable 😡😰😡😡🤬😤!

The live broadcast has stuck on a political party’s manifesto event for a whole week!

On the next upgrade can the developers look into rotating the app, currently you can only view the app on portrait on iPod, cannot read landscape, it should be readers choice shouldn’t be?

Disconnects whenever another app or search is done on the phone

This app just stops/shuts down meanwhile listening to radio

Turns off when it feels like it, very slow to access

As a student that’s currently studying towards a degree that is relatively intertwined with current events, I was looking for a news app that posted regular news updates and I really appreciate that this app has everything that I wanted and more. It makes keeping up with current events so easy (I struggled with this a bit prior to finding this app). I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it also offers a variety of radio stations AND the SABC news channel. Being able to access all of this on my phone (all in the same app!!) is so convenient. I also really love the fact that it’s compatible with the Picture in Picture iPhone feature as it allows me to use my phone while watching broadcasts.

The new update with a drop down menu option is nonsense. That drop down menu lags half the time and the other half of the time it doesn’t work. What an unnecessary update.

Streaming of live news is not working since new url fix.

Contrary to other ratings, this is a most unreliable news app. Despite having excellent WiFi, the SABC News App gets stuck for hours without updating the news items. Other apps selecting SA news are far more reliable and informative. A good word: the radio channels are a pleasure catering for a wide spectrum of interest. Not so good: Unfortunately, SABC TV News has become stereotypical. The SABC news app and the TV News need reviewing.
