A App Móvel da Save The Waves através de "crowdsourcing" obtém dados e informação de diversos utilizadores costeiros que identificam ameaças às nossas ondas e zonas costeiras: desde desenvolvimentos ilegais, poluição de plásticos até problemas com a qualidade das águas. Ao usar a tecnologia inerente aos "smartphones", utilizadores tiram uma fotografia com o seu telefone da zona impactada que fica logo com as coordenadas GPS do próprio telefone. Esta informação é partilhada com ativistas, agências costeiras e marítimas e gestores de áreas protegidas da nossa coligação. Assim, com a nossa comunidade mais alargada, conseguimos identificar e reduzir as ameaças aos ecossistemas de surf espalhados pelo mundo, dando ferramentas para comunidades locais terem voz e serem guardiões dos seus ecossistemas de surf.
