Reinstalled Scandy and made the mistake of updating the app before reading reviews. The “new” version erased all of my previous scans made with the original version of scandy. Sad day. I learn once again to never update an app unless you read reviews. Scanner is ok as it ever was. But it’s getting uninstalled. :/
it is so expensive that I can’t afford it
The iPhone has had lidar scanners in the camera system for years, but this app requires using the user facing camera, with no option to change it. Also, paying for this every year is weak when you can guy a hardware scanner, not have these same limitations, and not have a recurring bill. If you could buy this outright and it had support for the cameras on the back of the iPhone Pro line, it might be worth it, but until then there are better option.
Downloaded free version of Scandy Pro over a year ago and made one scan. Wasn’t bad for a free app. After getting a new iPhone I was excited to see if there was a quality improvement. The free version no longer works at all.
This app has turned into hot garbage. When it first came out it was stable, it was actually useful. Now every scan turns into an utter failure, the few month old top of the line phone has to be put in the freezer between scans because it gets so hot. The annual subscription is fair but the app is absolute bottom of the barrel trash. Useless.
For some reason it will only use the front camera on my phone.
This app doesnt allow me to use the cameras on the back of my phone so its almost impossible to scan small objects. Which was the whole purpose in checking thais app out.
I tried multiple object, using a lazy Susan, using a stationary camer holder, but it keeps saying stop moving the camera but the camera is not steady. I viewed the tutorial and was more stationary than the demonstrator but to no avail. Don’t bother with this app not worth the frustration.
I had problems at first but I had the resolution too high. Once I changed the setting to scan larger items, it works and tracks well. I send the scans from my phone to Microsoft one drive to make file transfer easier
