It seems you can only upload observations to iNaturalist as they occur, but old ones cannot be uploaded. Please enable this feature!

Very inaccurate. About half the plants I attempted to identify were dicots, according to this app.

Amazingly impressive image recognition. I personally do not want the app to add photos to my Photos. I just want to be able to look at the identified plant on Wikipedia without storing a photo. This does not seem to be possible unfortunately.

It thought a hazelnut was a Asian beetle

It has so far identified two fungi - both found only in the US. I’m in the UK (and the app knows this). It would seem to be better suited to US users than UK - certainly for more difficult / unusual things such as fungi, lichens and mosses which is what I wanted it for. No way of telling the app that it is wrong either.

It can be a little difficult to get the focus on the app sometimes and if something is very small or moving, it doesn’t always get the full identification but other than that it’s wonderful. I look like the weirdo in public, scanning everything in sight, but I’ve identified berry bushes near me that are edible, and I’ve grown so fond of the local spiders that it has helped me manage horrible arachnophobia, to the point I love spiders now. It’s a really useful app and when used responsibly (always get a second opinion on edible mushrooms!) its so handy and fun. Absolutely love this app.
