Shadowmap: Sun Exposure Map

I should’ve looked at that 3.1 rating. This app is worthless. Someone else noted, it doesn’t have ground objects like trees. And also completely misrepresents the shadow cast by buildings. to suggest that it could be used for solar planning is a complete fallacy.

1. When I search for a location, it doesn’t move to that 2. Can’t play 24h simulation 3. When I try to switch to high Res mod, it crashes Basically unusable.

App keeps crashing. Hope you get this fixed.

I signed up for the 7 day free trial for the Pro version. The feature I wanted to try before purchasing was not available. I’m a gardener planning raised beds at home and community gardens. I need to know the shadows from buildings and trees throughout the growing season. The trial version does not allow me to check the accuracy, therefore I will not be purchasing the Pro or Lite versions. I’ve deleted the application from my device.

No buildings near me

I never - or virtually never - review an app. But I’m a photographer and this app deserves my five-star review. I must have tried a dozen apps to help me plan for landscape photos and make educated guesses about where and when the sun will hit. Sure, plenty of apps will tell you the timing and direction of a sunrise or sunset. And if you’re on location, plenty of apps offer augmented reality so you can view the arc of the sun. But this is THE ONLY app that will show you, with the slide of your finger, whether you will be in shadow or not. Think you’ll see the sunrise at 7:00 from that footbridge because your app said the timing and angle is right? Better make sure you’re not on the wrong side of a building. Or a billboard. Or a whole bloody ridge line. Better download this app and double check before you head out there.

I am an architectural photographer and I have many apps on my phone, which help me with the sun. I found this app today and it is a Game changer. To be able to know the ex act time that the sun is hitting the building is huge. No more guessing or getting out to the location at the wrong time. Plus, this is the only app I’ve ever had the CEO of the company write me back so fast. I give this easily a 5 out of 5…

Endless possibilities with this app. 📸🏡☀️You can go anywhere on earth and set the time & date (later with premium subscription) and see shadow casting for landscape and buildings. Some high res cities area there (I have seen Vienna and Munich) but you basically see all buildings worldwide as blocks. It’s great that the app gets updated on the fly with new features even without an App Store Update. All thumbs up to the developers here! 👌

Finde die App echt klasse! Ich nutze sie für die Fotografie und da interessiert es mich auch wie lange ich in einem Tal Sonne hab und wo sie wann ist und auch in welcher Höhe steht daherkommt! Das ist mit der App super erfassbar, da sie auch das Gelände miteinbezieht. Einzig was mich stört, mein Haus (Siedlung am Rande in Wien ) + dortige Umgebung ist noch immer nicht in 3D dargestellt und wir wohnen schon 5 Jahre dort… finde für den Preis, könnte man da mal nachbessern. Aber für viele Orte und Citys schon sehr detailiert, das ist dafür top!
