I really like the concept, but it bothers me a lot whenever I need to use the search function. I don’t particularly appreciate watching the yellow circles. In my opinion, the app needs some infrastructural investment.

Shortform may be good, but the UX within the app is completely horrible. No sync between text/audio, hard to rewind, impossible to rewind with airpods.

Only ~1000 summaries for books *and articles* for $250/year+ And it’s mostly articles. Simply not worth it.

There are tons of books on here and the summaries are amazing. The information is digestible and you don’t feel like you’re missing out any important pieces. Their customer service is phenomenal and responds so fast. If you’re thinking about a subscription, I highly recommend!!

The audio doesn’t have in text indicator. So you will always need to find where you left off manual. Highlighting is an absolute pain on both iPhone and iPad. The meticulous and insightful summaries are betrayed by these many technical incompetencies.

This app is in bad need of an update. Content overlaps and blends with iOS interface element, like the time and battery indicator, making it difficult to read. One of the key functions of the app is to notate text, but that capability does not work dependably. More often than not, you select the text you want to highlight and comment on and the app fails to present the elements to do so. If you use this service, stick to the web interface, this app is simply too buggy and undependable.

I bought this expecting to listen to the summaries in the car, but I can’t listen to them because they are computer generated audio, not human voices. It’s like listening to a long IVR menu.

Aside from the awesome app, and very user-friendly experience. The support team has been very responsive and help me with my billing issue. They addressed my concerns right away. Keep it up guys.

Shortform is the best place that you can learn fast especially when you don’t have enough time to read a actual book shortform can help you a lot.

The app has a few bugs that cause me frustration when listening to books on the go. The rewind feature is useless when using Siri, only allows 10 sec rewind but I listen to books at 2x speed, so when you’re caught in thought, mins go by. Lack of rewind feature with specified time intervals (like audible) means I have to manually change it in the app. The banners are also a bit buggy moving up and down on my iPhone SE 2020 screen. Overall I love the content and structure but usability of the app is no where close to the likes of Headway and Audible.
