Sky Baron: War of Planes

I have the I pad air and every time I play sky baron it freezes up and locks me out. I tried reloading it again and it still did not work. When it worked it was fun but it froze every time. I would have not expected it to be like that for a paid app.

Mission 23 escape from Enemy territory; Defeat Persuing Planes, it’s impossible to win this mission, it’s impossible to even get very far in the mission. Also the directional has a little hesitation to it. I still like playing the game though.

It Is a realistic game for me I love it so much

My absolute favorite game for my iPhone! Played a lot of other games some good, some not so much but I keep coming back to this game. Love it!

This is an arcade-style shooter, not a flight simulator. I was REALLY hoping the “simulator” option in the paid version would allow more realistic flight maneuvers, but alas, it does not. You can bank left and right about 45°, and nose up or down 30-45°, but you can’t roll inverted, loop, split-s, or anything like that. So combat amounts to turning back and forth, slowing down to turn a little tighter, and chasing little red circles. If you get too low the plane blows up (long before actually contacting the ground). There is no change in engine noise when reducing the throttle, so no auditory feedback on how fast you’re going. And if you leave the throttle at or below 50% for more than a few seconds, the engine mysteriously dies and you inexplicably go into a dive until you advance the throttle. Perhaps the developers are confusing an engine “stall” with an aerodynamic stall? I don’t know. Weird. Also, you cannot change your view direction, except in the second map where you can switch between pilot and observer/gunner positions. Also curious in the realism department: if your plane takes damage, your engine catches fire (a death sentence in WWI aviation); but if you can avoid enemies for a minute or two, your aircraft repairs itself, and you continue on your merry way. Graphics are good, animation is good, aircraft are recognizable, and the 99¢ add-on feature of sticking your own photo on your instrument panel is a nice touch. One final note: the story part is so poorly translated into English that it is effectively unintelligible. Seriously. It’s that bad. Worse than assembly instructions on cheap imported furniture.

The music, the desk, it has an immersive element I liked. What they do they do very well, indeed. The cockpit, the weather, the planes in the dogfight, the balloons. It has you wanting more though - the base, your quarters, ground targets/activity, the planes, a surrounding view, a story behind the mission briefs... I’m hoping this is in works.

External views would be awesome but all in all this is a great game!

I give this game a great review not all the aircraft are in it only a select few but it has potential I like campaigns for sure the realism is also great also great graphics and the best German fighter game ever
