This app has some amazing tools for kids/ teens on the spectrum and other kids who need help with social skills. I love the video modeling. The app includes many different topics. I almost wonder if they should have named it “Everyday Skills Our Kids need to Learn.” (Everyday Speech makes it sound like the kids are learning how to talk and pronounce words however this app is really more about teaching the kids how to “communicate” on many levels. A must have in my opinion.
The content of the app is great. Very useful during lessons involving pragmatic language. I purchased an annual subscription and after 3 weeks I log in to find my subscription was abruptly cancelled. I did not request this and the subscription is still listed as active in iTunes. I contact the app’s support and they tell me because the subscription was created through itunes, there is nothing they can do. So now I’m out $300.
I love me
I can’t say enough about this site! It has helped so many of my students who really struggle with social skills. There are tons of videos, games, and activities in all different areas (emotional regulation, perspective taking, conversational skills, etc.). My students love the videos and often ask me to watch them when they come into the room. I feel it has really helped them in many areas
I’ve had this a year. No app like it. I’m an OT and use the Alert program and interception training. This combines and applies those concepts to visuals and videos. Vital app to have for those with Autism. Worth the price.
This app has been a life saver! So often in the past I tried to explain appropriate social communication and behavior to my students. They didn’t “get it”. With the videos available on Everyday speech the can “see/hear” the appropriate way to do things. Excellent, I use it daily with my students grades 8-12!
